INSTRUCTIONS
Using a provisional cast on method (this will keep the stitches live to accomplish a smoother, less bulky seam).
CO 40, (45), (48), (50), (55) stitches. Join in the round. This pattern is worked entirely in the round in
stockinette.
BRIM
Rounds 1 – 26, (26), (30), (32), (36): k
If desired, work additional rounds here to add more height to your brim.
Round 27, (27), (31), (33), (37): Fold up the tube, with the wrong sides together. The provisional cast on
stitches will be on the inside of the tube. Line up the stitches on the inside and outside of the tube to ensure a
straight brim is created. With the left needle, pick up a stitch from the provisional cast on and then knit the two
stitches together. Repeat until all the stitches have been worked. Be careful not to miss any of the provisional
cast on stitches. When complete you should still have 40 (45), (48), (50), (55) stitches on your needles.

FINISHING
Break the yarn, leaving a long tail to close the crown of the hat. With the
yarn/tapestry needle, working clockwise around from the stitches on the left
needle to the stitches on the right needle, pick up the 10 (9 for child size)
remaining stitches. Remove the needles and pull the yarn taut. Work the
yarn to the inside of the hat through the center of the crown. Secure the yarn
on the inside of the hat with a few knots and weave in the end.
If desired, embellish your double brim beanie with a yarn or faux fur pom pom.
Enjoy your cozy, chunky Parry Beanie!
