This document describes a personality test kit that helps students determine which college programs and careers they may be suited for. The test is based on John Holland's theory of career choices and personality types. It involves students rating statements about their interests and skills, then comparing their results to six personality types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. PERSONALITY TEST KIT

Your ultimate profiling test before enrolling on any college or university course

Developed by Academic Psychologist, Dr. John L. Holland

INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA-WALES iumw.edu.my

OVERVIEW

Your personality profiling simply refers to the

tasks and activities that you are inclined to,
interested in, and possibly be good at doing.
Knowing this is important because it increases
your self-understanding and helps you weigh
in your university programme choices. This
knowledge also enables you to set the right
direction for skills and career pathways and
grounds your decisions.

Utilising the profiling assessment tools such as

this test acts as a mirror by providing a
snapshot of yourself in areas of interests,
values, personality and skills. Essentially, such
tools can help create greater self-awareness
and understanding of college or university
programmes that are available to consider.

ABOUT THIS TEST

RIASEC stands for 6 characteristics: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social,
Enterprising, and Conventional.
The RIASEC test asks questions about your aspirations, activities, skills, and interests in
different jobs to help you discover careers and fields of study that are likely to satisfy you.
The system was developed by Dr John L. Holland, an academic psychologist. Dr Holland’s
theory proposes that there are six broad areas into which all careers can be classified.
These same six areas can be used to describe people, their personalities and interests.
