Citec Assist Flow CAF Fan Tile Units

The document provides information on Citec Assist Flow (CAF) fan tile units for data center airflow management. CAF units consist of one or multiple fans that draw cold air from under the raised floor to supply adequate airflow to high density racks. Models include up to 4 fans providing airflow from 850 to 3,400 cubic meters per hour. Installation involves placing the CAF unit in front of equipment racks, with a temperature sensor connecting to the controller to regulate fan speed based on rack temperature. Dimensions, electrical wiring, and installation details are also included.

The Company

Citec International is one of the global leaders in designing and manufacturing

precision air-conditioning system. Citec International places great emphasis on
achieving the highest standards and incorporates stringent quality controls throughout
its operations. Every CITEC product is designed and built within a Quality
Management System ISO9001 and Environmental Management System ISO14001,
using our unrivalled experience in Precision Air Conditioning, with extensive testing
of components and complete systems. Every aspect is engineered to ensure maximum
reliability, economy of operation and long working life, together with ease of
installation and maintenance.

The Product

The Citec Assist Flow CAF fan tile units are the latest innovative product from Citec
International that designed to assist in airflow management of data center with raised
flooring. The CAF units consist of one or multiple fans that draw cold air from the
underfloor and provide adequate airflow to the high density racks. Thus with CAF
units installed, airflow required is guaranteed and hot spot can be eliminated.

The Citec CAF unit is to be installed on the raised floor structure replacing perforated
tile. The unit can be placed directly on the 4 columns and stringers. Citec CAF
comprises of eight models with up to 4 fans per unit and two types of fan. Nominal air
flow ranged from 850m³/hr to 3,400m³/hr.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Fans: The unit can be fitted with AC fans or EC fans. EC Fan Cartridge: Can fit in 2 fans per
fans are highly energy efficient with variable speed feature cartridge and up to 2 cartridges per
while AC fans are cost effective and to be coupled with fan unit. Both cartridges have separate
speed controller to enable airflow control. Maximum up to power supply connection, thus one of
4 fans can be fitted to the unit for large airflow application the cartridges can be removed without
as well as for great redundancy. affecting the other cartridge.

HOW IT WORKS

CAF unit shall be placed in front

of equipment rack. A
temperature sensor connected to
the CAF controller shall be
placed at the top of the rack.

During operation, CAF

controller will regulate the fan
speed to ensure there is enough
cold air delivered to the top of
the rack. If the temperature
sensor sense higher temperature,
the fan speed will be increased to
draw more cold air from under
floor. While if the temperature
sensor senses lower temperature,
the fan speed will be decreased
to preserve energy usage.
