MV = (P × 𝑛) + I

LINEAR INEQUATIONS
• Whole number = 0, 1, 2, 3…..
• Natural number = 1, 2, 3…..
• Real number = -1, 0, 12, ½, √2…..
• Solid circle for ≥ and ≤. 2. Hollow Circle for < and >
• and = common
• or = both
For all number :-
Solution set = {1, 2, 3, 4}
For Real numbers :-
Solution set = {-1≤ x<5:x∈ 𝑅}

QUADRATIC EQUATIONS
ax² + bx + c = 0
−𝑏 ± √𝑏 2 −4𝑎𝑐
x=
2𝑎

Nature of Roots :-
Discriminant (D) = 𝑏 2 − 4𝑎𝑐
D > 0, Two distinct real roots
D = 0, Two equal real roots
D < 0, No real roots
RATIO & PROPORTION
• In the ratio, a : b, a is called antecedent and b is called
consequent.
𝑎 𝑐 𝑒 𝑎+𝑐+𝑒
• = = =
𝑏 𝑑 𝑓 𝑏+𝑑+𝑓

• Compound ratio of a : b and c : d is (a X b) : (c X d)

• Duplicate ratio of a : b is a² : b²
• Triplicate ratio of a : b is a³ : b³
• Sub – duplicate ratio of a : b is
• √𝑎 : √𝑏

• Reciprocal ratio of a : b is b : a
• Proportion – a : b : : c : d or a : b = c : d
• Continued Proportion – a : b : : b : c or a : b = b : c
• Invertendo – If a : b = c : d, then b : a = d : c
• Alternendo – If a : b = c : d, then a : c = b : d
• Componendo – If a : b = c : d, then a + b : b = c + d : d
• Dividendo – If a : b = c : d, then a – b : b = c – d : d
• Componendo and dividendo – If a : b = c : d, a + b : a –
b=c+d:c–d.

FACTORISATION

• REMAINDER THEOREM: If f (x) is a polynomial,

which is divided by (x–a), then the remainder is f (a).
• FACTOR THEOREM: If the remainder on dividing a
polynomial f (x) by (x – a), f (a) = 0, then (x – a) is a
factor of f (x).

MATRICES

Note :- We’re assuming that you know the basic rules of

matrices like addition and subtraction. Remember the rule
of multiplication of matrices :-

3 4 1 2
If, AB = ⌊ ⌋⌊ ⌋
5 0 3 4

3×1+4×3 3×2+4×4
Then, AB = ⌊ ⌋
5×1+0×3 5×2+0×4
ARITHEMETIC PROGRESSION

• General form = a, a+d, a+2d…

• Tn = a + (n-1)d
