Point Checklist to
GETTING YOUR
EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP
WITHIN 6 MONTHS
And Gaining Access to
Unlimited Opportunities
THE 5-POINT CHECKLIST TO GETTING YOUR
EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP WITHIN 6 MONTHS:
DO YOU QUALIFY?
My ancestors were born in Poland (or former Polish territories)
My Polish ancestors lived in Poland after 1920
My Polish ancestors did not renounce their Polish citizenship directly to the
Polish government
If I have a direct male Polish ancestor, they did not serve in a foreign army
(except for allied forces between 1 September 1939 and 8 May 1945).
OR
If I have a direct female Polish ancestor, they did not acquire another citizenship or
marry a foreigner before 19 January 1951.
GETTING YOUR EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP
Getting a Polish passport is a complicated and involved task, which requires time and commitment. At Polaron,
we like to think of it as a journey, because it helps you reconnect with your family’s history. But it also gives
you one of the greatest gifts you could ever get from your ancestors: ability to travel, live and work in Europe
with no restrictions.
Since 2003, our expert team has facilitated over seven thousand Polish citizenships and passports. But it’s not
just our experience and the 99% success rate that makes us a trusted name.
Because we are dealing with very sensitive information, we take great care in maintaining your
confidentiality and handling your records. We never share or sell your information, and can provide you with a
written non-disclosure undertaking.
As we go along, we explain the process to you and help you navigate family dynamics, information gathering
and archival records we need to provide you with our initial assessment. This stage involves looking up on-line
resources but also asking many questions, exchanging emails and documents,
discussing your case over the phone or meeting in person.
Once we’ve analyzed your case and established you qualify for Polish citizenship, we provide you with a free,
all-inclusive quote and a written money-back guarantee. Please bear in mind that every case is different and
whilst most people are able to proceed directly to the confirmation of citizenship in Poland, many others do
not have sufficient evidence to back up their claim. In those cases, research needs to be carried out first. This is
reflected in our quote.
Until you make a decision to continue with our services, everything is free and there is no obligation for you to
proceed.
We look forward to learning more about your heritage and assisting you with your enquiry.
5 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET YOUR CITIZENSHIP
WITHIN 6 MONTHS
PREPARATION: QUOTES, AGREEMENTS AND LETTERS OF AUTHORITY
1 The first step involves signing quotes, agreements and letters of authority. The quotes
and agreements set out the contractual obligations that bind you and Polaron; the
letters of authority will allow us to conduct research in Poland, Germany and with the
Red Cross International Tracing System, and to act on your behalf. The agreement
includes a written guarantee and we do offer a range of payment plans.
RESEARCH: GATHERING DOCUMENTS
2 The research component is the most time-consuming, complex part of the process. It
involves gathering all the documents necessary to prove to the Polish authorities that
you have a rightful claim to Polish citizenship. It is also the most interesting part of
your journey: as we try to paint a picture of the emigration of your ancestor, stories of
hardship, courage and sometimes even mischief can emerge. We will conduct all the
research needed to obtain the proof required by the Polish authorities, but some docu-
ments will need to be provided by you. We will help you every step of the way and keep
you informed as we go along.
LODGMENT: REGISTRATION OF VITAL RECORDS & APPLICATION FOR
3
CONFIRMATION OF CITIZENSHIP
Once we have gathered all the required proof, we will apply for confirmation of
citizenship to the relevant Polish authorities on your behalf. We will also need to
register your birth certificate and your marriage certificate, if you are married, with the
civil registry in Poland. If you have changed your name, then we will also have to
perform administrative tasks to register the name change with the Polish authorities.
Your application will take some time to be processed and your case officer may have
issues that will need to be clarified. These are difficult to predict, as each case officer’s
take on the cases they work on maybe slightly different. We will address these matters
as and when they happen. The outcome of this step is the confirmation of your Polish
citizenship and a Polish birth certificate (and marriage, where necessary).
PASSPORT APPLICATION: POLISH CONSULATE
4 Once your confirmation of citizenship has been received, you will be ready to apply
for your passport. We will help prepare the application for you and assist you with the
booking of an appointment for you at the Polish Consulate nearest to you, so that you
can apply for your passport. Along with your Polish passport, you will be issued with a
PESEL number. This number is akin to a social security number and is required for many
official tasks in Poland.

You now have a Polish passport and are free to move around and work in Europe!

the airport, you will appreciate having an EU passport even more.
SET UP AND GROW YOUR START-UP OR SME
As an EU citizen, you can register a company and launch a branch of an existing EU-based
business in any EU country, Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein quickly and easily. In most EU
countries, you can set up a new company for less than EUR 100 in less than 3 working days,
completing all procedures on-line through a single administrative body.

There are many different EU funds and initiatives available to support start-ups and SMEs,
such as the Start-up Europe Club, European Investment Advisory Hub or the Start-up
Europe Partnership platform. If you’re looking to increase the visibility of your business or
seek funding, you can register your project on the European Investment Project Portal.
The aim of these initiatives is to remove obstacles to investment, provide technical
assistance and to make better use of financial resources. Business owners with dual
citizenship benefit from the single economic EU zone without facing the restrictions
applied by non-EU citizens.
