Q. Why Teacher Licensing is important? Explain the recommendations for Teacher

Licensing in Pakistan with respect to National Education policy? 7+8

Why Teacher Licensing is important?

Answer :

1. It can increase your earning potential

First and foremost, we all love money. Getting a teaching license I know is definitely the easiest
way to automatically be considered for a higher salary in school. When hiring teachers, most
schools offer teachers a very wide range of salaries. In general, salaries are based
on the candidate's total years of teaching experience and formal teaching qualifications such as:
B. A Scaled Appropriate Education License. For example, a job description at a school may state
a salary range of 20,000 to 30,000 RMB per month. Many times we
find dissatisfied teachers who are not very happy with the salary offered because they wanted a
higher salary. The truth is that the upper end of the salary range is reserved for teachers with
formal teaching qualifications, while the lower end of the salary range is usually offered
to unlicensed teachers. An easy way to reach the upper end of this salary range is to obtain a
Teaching or Teaching Certificate.

 2. More Job Options

Teaching Nomad works with several different schools in China, the rest of Asia and the Middle

East. Teachers looking to teach in an international school have several options. However, there is
a significant proportion of schools in the international market that do not consider teachers
without some kind of teaching license. Earning a teaching license is the easiest way to open more
doors and get you considered for more positions than otherwise.
Note that schools that only consider licensed teachers also tend to offer much higher salaries.

3. Able to return to their home country to teach

Although it is entirely possible for a teacher to work abroad for more than her ten years, most
teachers usually return to their home country at some point. When teachers
return home, they are often overwhelmed with the task of finding teaching jobs in their
home countries, and many are unemployed for months until they find a way to pay the bills.
However, teachers with the appropriate teaching license can easily return to their
home country with their qualifications plus experience gained abroad. Schools in the US,
UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa are always looking for new teachers. As you
might imagine, a proper teaching license is the only way a teacher can be legally admitted
to these positions. We often find that many of the teachers we work with have never
taught before coming abroad, do not have teaching qualifications and love to teach. A teaching
license is the only way for these teachers to return to their home countries and continue their
teaching work.

4. Become a more competitive candidate

The international education market is highly competitive. Some of our most prestigious and

metropolitan schools receive hundreds of applications during recruitment season
It's not uncommon to see 30+ applicants for one position! How to be selected from 30
applicants? Having a teaching license automatically makes schools take your application
more seriously and dramatically increases your chances of being interviewed and offered a job.
and two of them have teaching licenses. These two of her licensed teachers will be the first to
be interviewed and therefore the first to be offered the position. It is even possible that all other
applicants will not be considered when a licensed teacher applies for a position.

5. Become a Better Teacher

Of course, you can learn a lot if you take the time to get a full license and

certification program. Even if you have 10+ years of experience, learning from a
formal licensing program can open your eyes to teaching methods you may not have
known before and help you close your skills gaps. If you're considering teaching as a
career, you'll want to do the best you can. Licensing programs are a great way to become a better
educator. All licensed programs include hours of informative coursework and the opportunity
to mentor more experienced professional teachers. This is perfect for your own professional
development.

Explain the recommendations for Teacher Licensing in Pakistan with respect to National
Education policy?

Answer :

Undoubtedly, students' surprisingly low learning levels reflect the quality of the nation's

education system and its teachers. While the list is not exhaustive, some of the key issues related
to the quality of Pakistan's existing teachers stem from systemic gaps such as his
recruitment and placement system, which has been politicized .
Unreasonable Use of Teacher Trainees in Teacher Training Institutes. Inadequate resources
and opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD),and lack of robust quality
assurance (QA) mechanisms.

Policy Overview

Improving the quality of education has received a lot of attention as it has recently been placed

at the forefront of the education reform agenda. As a result, this was at the core of
National Student Centered Education Policy (NEP) of 2009.
in Education was enacted by the NEP in. To achieve this goal, two major strategies have been
identified by policy and endorsed by state governments. The 2009 introduction of the National
Professional Standards (NPST) for Teacher Licensing and His Teachers. Based on the
competencies described in the standard, primarily the acquisition of educational skills and the
ability to facilitate effective learning. The rationale behind this policy initiative was to develop a
scheme that rewards good practice and innovation, attracting high performers into the profession
and supporting aspiring teachers.
Certified Teacher

Certification as a teacher is generally compulsory in most countries and helps develop the

skills of those entering the profession. Benefits of teacher certification include improved
safety and confidence for parents and students in the knowledge, qualifications, professionalism,
skills, and training of teachers.
In addition, other stakeholders, such as education managers, have access to a large pool
of appropriately qualified teachers. At higher levels of management, education departments and
teacher training institutions can regulate and manage faculty and obtain accurate data for
deployment, subject specialization, and strategic planning.
Similarly, plans for continuing professional development and structured career
development paths for in-service teachers are streamlined.

Future teachers will benefit most from the certification initiative. Demonstrates professionalism

while feeling secure and confident that you are meeting's universal and transparent standards
and competencies.
Standardizing professions helps them use their licenses to teach in the public and private sectors.
Existing teachers were also considered in policy development, providing a phased approach
to licensing implementation. The process begins with the new teacher obtaining her
Quality Teacher Status (QTS) and existing teachers are encouraged to improve her
qualification. The newly developed program for Part-Time Associate Degrees (ADE) and [Link]
(Hons) in Continuing Professional Development or Education bridges
courses and expedites teacher training.

Challenges

Introducing state teacher licensure as an integral part of the systematic implementation

of the NEP presented significant challenges. The lack of accurate data from 4,444 teachers on
duty required the development of a reliable mapping/projection system for teachers.
Furthermore, while the placement and recruitment of teachers will be affected by licensing, the
incentives to improve the qualifications of her incumbent  teachers  will  require incentives
such as: In the latter case, it was also a challenge to work with CPD service providers to develop
teacher certification frameworks in 4,444 states and ensure quality training at 4,444 teacher
training  institutions (TEIs). Extensive teacher education staff development and teacher
education institution leadership are essential to meeting the
requirements of the Licensing Framework. In particular, the effective management and
regulation of licensing initiatives requires the establishment of a body or agency with the
capacity to develop policies for teacher education and quality teaching practices.
Organizations should conduct researchand collaborate with other
strategic organizations responsible for developing curricula and textbooks to recommend
future directions for CPD. Therefore, the creation of synergies within the educational system
is necessary to achieve the intended goals of teacher education. Staffing such an organization
with a properly trained
and an experienced team was expected to pose another challenge to the state. The priority is
to ensure that education professionals and their unions are involved in the process and
their concerns are addressed through open consultation and policy dialogue.
Implementation of education policy after decentralization of the education system has
been a difficult task
The provinces were ill-prepared for this massive structural change in
. Nevertheless, all federal states have taken these reform initiatives.
The 2013 State Teacher Education Strategy has been developed and is in place to guide teacher
education reform in all states. Among
states, Sindh is leading the way in introducing teacher qualifications and licenses, while
Punjab has a roadmap. Azad Jammu & Kashmir established the
Teacher Certification and Licensing Authority in 2011, but it is not yet operational.
In Sindh, the Sindh Teacher Education Development Authority (STEDA) was established in
2012 to coordinate the development of teacher education. The primary function of
these institutions is to help improve educational standards through teacher accountability, so that
the provision of teacher education services also meets accreditation requirements.
STEDA facilitates teacher licensing and changes teacher recruitment and service rules to ensure
competence-based employment. To date, STEDA has established a committee to coordinate
state teacher education
and has begun to implement capacity building for quality assurance, while drafting its policies
and tools, and advocating for teacher certification and licensing. is developing a framework.
Overall, teacher certification as a quality assurance tool will benefit the education system,
especially new teachers. These initiatives are a leap in the right direction and, if
implemented and upholding high standards of quality, transparency and accountability, can
improve the quality of education in the country. However, the extent to which these initiatives
will affect the quality of education and student learning levels remains to be determined.
