>DESCRIPTION
The rainsuit, comprising of a jacket and trousers, is a converged design meeting the Air Force and Armys requirements for a suitable rainsuit system. The rain jacket and trousers are equipped with a Waterproof, Moisture Vapour Permeable (WMVP) membrane with static dissipative properties incorporated into the fabric. The WMVP membrane provides protection from the wind and rain while permitting the transfer of body moisture to the outside of the garment. To ensure greater protection from the elements entering the garment, the seams are sealed with a compatible waterproof tape. The anti-static properties add some protection in an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) hazardous environment when following proper grounding procedures.
>CONCEPT OF USE:
The converged rainsuit addresses the need for a garment that will keep the individual dry and comfortable in temperatures ranging from +10C to + 25C. The rainsuit provides wind and rain protection and allows for the transfer of body moisture to the outside. The Air Force developed the rain jacket and pant ensemble using the WMVP technology incorporating anti-static properties into the textile to accommodate the requirements of their flight line personnel.

The convergence with the Air Forces 2 in 1 rainsuit, allowed the Army to optimize the current design by adding modifications that include customized fit options, improved ventilation and additional pockets. The Converged CADPAT Rainsuit (CCR) is available in the Canadian Disruptive Pattern (CADPAT) in both Temperate Woodland (TW) and Arid Region (AR) making it compatible with other in-service combat clothing systems.
>USER MAINTENANCE
You are responsible for the care and maintenance of your rain suit. To maximize and maintain performance: A. ensure there are no punctures in the WMVP membrane as the rainsuits performance will be degraded; B. in the event of damage and/or deterioration, return to clothing stores for repair; C. to maintain performance keep the garment clean and rinse well when laundering. Ensure the rainsuit is washed separately from other garments to maintain the integrity of the electrostatic dissipative properties of the fabric; D. read the specific care/maintenance instructions label on each garment; and E. DO NOT remove the reflector tape tabs and /or ear defender straps from the garment.
