1. In March 2023, the state of Haryana in India has become the first state
in the country to achieve 100% electrification of its railway network.
2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was established on April 1, 1935, in
accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.
The Central Office of the RBI, initially set up in Kolkata, was
permanently moved to Mumbai in 1937. The RBI is the central bank of
India and is responsible for regulating the country’s monetary and
credit system.
3. IIT Guwahati ranked among world's top universities.

The Indian Institute of Technology are prestigious central


government owned public technical institutes across India. They are
known for their excellence in education, and they are under the Ministry
of Education of the Government of India.

4. ISRO launched India’s largest LVM3 rocket with 36 satellites on March


27, 2023, from Sriharikota Space Centre. It will deploy 36 satellites of
UK based Network Access Associated Ltd.to Low Earth Orbit. LVM
refers to Launch Vehicle mark-III.
5. Indian women boxers won 4 gold at 2023 Women’s World Boxing
Championships held in New Delhi. Nikhat Zareen, Lovlina Borgohain,
Nitu Ghanghas and Saweety Boora won gold medals in different
categories.
6. The Women’s Premier League (WPL) was played in March 2023 and
saw Mumbai Indians win the first title. WPL is a women’s Twenty 20
cricket franchise league in India. It is owned and operated by the Board
of Control for Cricket in India (BCC).
7. Indore Municipal Corporation has got its second woman
Commissioner Ms. Harshika Singh. The Commissioner of the Municipal
Corporation is appointed by the state government.
8. The President of India Draupadi Murmu conferred 106 Padma Awards
in Rashtrapati Bhawan this month for the year 2023. These awards are
one of the highest civilian awards of India and are conferred in 3
categories- Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.
9. India is celebrating the 50th year of Project Tiger. PM Narendra Modi
has shared the population of tigers in 2023 which is 3,167. India has now
75% of the world’s tiger population.
Project Tiger is a tiger conservation programme launched in India on
April1, 1973 to protect the tigers.
10. The Oscar Awards or the Academy Awards 2023
were held on March 13 IST in Los Angeles’ Dolby theatre. The Academy
Awards were originally held in 1929 for the first time.
The Elephant Whisperers made history by becoming the first Indian
documentary to win an Oscar and ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR’ wins the
best original song at the Oscar Awards 2023.
