INSTALLING VECTOR BRUSHES (MAC, WIN)

Note: Vector brushes only work in Affinity Designer. Wait for the confirmation popup and click OK.

First, open the Brushes Panel, View>Studio>Brushes. From

that panel, select Import Brushes...

Once imported, repeat step one and when the browser

windows pops up again, select the file Frankentoon - Splat
Borders.afbrushes.

That’s it! You’ve succesfully installed Splat FX and Splat

Borders vector packs.

From the browser window locate the file Frankentoon - Splat

FX.afbrushes.

INSTALLING RASTER BRUSHES (MAC, WIN)

Note: to use raster brushes in Affinity Designer, you
need to switch to Pixel Persona.

First, open the Brushes Panel, View>Studio>Brushes. From

that panel, select Import Brushes...

Wait a few seconds while the brushes load into your library
and you’re done!

From the browser window locate the file Frankentoon - Splat

Inks.afbrushes.

When using this pack, we recommend selecting the Paint

Brush Tool manually, instead of using a keyboard shortcut
IMPORTANT! (Fig.1), and then select the brush you want to use from the
Brushes Panel (Fig.2).
Most of Splat Inker brushes for Affinity Apps, relies on the
Wet Edges feature to get their liquid ink character.

Currently, there’s a minor issue with Designer and Photo for

desktop, that may prevent this feature from being activated
when switching tools using shortcuts. 1

SPLAT FX BRUSHES
Splat FX brushes have been designed to speed up your
workflow taking advantage of Designer’s raster-based vector
brushes’ flexibility to sculpt and design your strokes and
special effects more easily.

INKING BRUSHES
Splat FX offers a small but super useful inking brushes. This
set of five brushes has been made out actual Pigma and
Sakura liners and brush pens.

This inking set was designed to be used with the Pen Tool
FTOON - SK Brush Pen that combined with Designer’s Pressure feature, will help you
sculpt and fine-tune your strokes to the minimum detail.

HATCH DESIGNER BRUSHES

With Hatch Designer brushes you’ll be able to really dig
deep into details by combining stroke width and brush
pressure, to create delightful hatching profiles in
seconds.

FLEXIBLE HALFTONE BRUSHES PRO TIPS:

These flexible halftone brushes have been designed to
create quick and malleable toning shaders.

FTOON - Fine V Halftone 90°

Normal Reversed

FTOON - V Halftone 45° To change any brush direction, select the stroke you’re
working with and click on the option Reverse Curves.

NOTE: For precise tone-mapping and halftone brushes, look Move Tool (Black arrow)

for our raster brushes, Splat Inking also included in Splat!

When changing the length of a stroke, avoid doing it using the

Move Tool, this will stretch the brush’s pattern. Use the Node
Tool Instead.

To have more control over the
