German Standard DK 621.867.21:622.64% November 1988 Steel Cord Conveyor Belts For Hoisting And Conveying | DIN Dimensions, requirements 22131 part 1 ‘Supersedes the DIN 22 131 T2/02.65 standard withdrawn in January 1986 and with DIN 22 131 ‘T2/I1.88 supersedes the 02.65 issue withdrawn in January 1986 Dimensions in mm 1. Scope of use ‘The standard applies to conveyor belts with steel cords arranged in the longitudinal direction as + conveyor belts for hosting and conveying steel cord conveyor belts for underground coalmining with specific requirements for work safety) gineering, see DIN 22 129 part I to 4 2, Belt structure Conveyor belts according to this standard are made of steel cords surrounded by a layer of core rubber and rubber covers. The thickness of covers is determined in accordance to requirements. ‘The covers may include textile (T) or metal (S) transverse reinforcement on order. Thicker covers can be used in the case of special requirements. The cover thickness on the load-bearing side S; is the minimum value listed in Table 2 and the.allowance which can be determined with consideration to values of various factors acc. to DIN 22 101 Ifthere is belt reinforcement embedded in the covers, thicker covers may be required. 4.2.2 Quality grades The cover quality grades are determined correspondingly to the load resistance. 4.3 Belt thickness The belt thickness s, results from the cord diameter d and the cover thickness values S; and S ‘The belt thickness may deviate from the dimension S; by +10%. The permissible deviation of the thickness downward for the belts < 20 mm is 1.0 mm and 1.5 mm maximum at the belt thickness > 20 mm. : 44 Belt length The length of supplied belts may deviate from the ordered length by +2%. The number of unit lengths and delivery forms are to be agreed on. 4.5 Belt edge ‘The edge width by cannot be less than 15 mm. 4.6 Ordering data 1400 m of the steel cord conveyor belt (St), width 2200 mm, minimum breaking force 3500 N/mm of belt width, 10 mm thick covers on the load-bearing side and 7 mm thick covers on the running side, quality grade Y 1400 mm steel cord conveyor belt, DIN 22 131-2200 St3500 10/7 Y If the bel is to include transverse reinforcement, agree on it indi 5, Requirements 5.1 The breaking foree of steel cords The breaking force Fi, of the steel cord cured in the conveyor belt rubber must be at least as large as the value calculated from the minimum breaking force of the conveyor belt and from the cord pitch ace. to Table 2 with an allowance of approx 10%. ‘Table'3. The end distances between the cords (the pitch) results from the location deviations of individual cords in the belt. It may be larger in the ‘maximum of 5% of the cords. The deviation of the belt load-bearing side from the calculated value (7,~ I)-cannot exceed 1%. The steel cords must run in one plane within the belt. The differences 41 (see DIN 22 131 part 3) cannot exceed + 1.5 mm. A maximum of 5% of differences can exceed #1 mm, 5.3 The number and spacing of eord joints ‘The following conditions apply to individual single lengths: a/ a maximum of 2% of the cords can be bonded b/only one bonding per cord is allowed / the spacing between the bonds in the longitudinal direction must exceed 10m 54. Cord ripping force The adhesion between the cord and the rubber is critical to the quality of the steel cord conveyor belt and to the transfer of force at the connections of belts. The measure of adhesion is the cord ripping force F 1 DIN 22 131 part 1 page 5 ‘Table 4.
