SHARED SECURITY DOMAIN (SSD)

OPERA CLOUD: HOW TO GUIDE

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this guide is to assist System Administrators in creating Chain Roles for OPERA Cloud.

Step Description

1. Navigate to and log into the Oracle Identity Self


Service portal.

Click on the Manage button.

Note: The Oracle Identity Self Service URL is


listed in the Welcome Letter received by your
designated OPERA Property Administrator.

2. Click on the Roles tile.

3. Click the Create link.

4. Enter required information into the General Role


section.
 Name: This can be a short or long version of the
name depending on the property’s needs.
 Note: The system will automatically prefix
the name with the property code and a
hyphen, to create a unique identifier for each
property within the environment. The total of
the prefix generated, plus a hyphen, and the
name chosen in this field, may not exceed 40
characters.
 Display Name: This should be the full
distinguishable name.

Note: The Owned By field will automatically


populate based on who created the role.

5. The Hierarchy, Access Policy, and Members


steps are not required. Click the Next button to
arrive on the Organization step.

Click the Add Organizations button.

6. Search for the Organization Name (Chain Code).

Highlight the preferred Organization Name and


click the Add Selected button.

Click the Select button.

Note: Selecting the chain code will result in a


CHAIN Role being created.

7. Verify the Organization Name, then click the Next


button.

8. Verify the information entered, then click the Finish


button.

9. Check that the role has been created by searching


in Roles.

10. Open OPERA Cloud application URL and log in


with credentials.

In the site menu, click the Role Manager list item.

11. Select the Manage Chain Roles link.

12. Click the Search button.

13. In the Roles section, you would see your newly


created role with a warning indicator. Click on the
Vertical Ellipsis beside the role you are working
with, and select the Create Role from LDAP link.

14. Select the tasks which should be granted to this


role, from the Available Tasks section.
 Check the Select All box, if the role may perform
all available tasks in that section.
 Each role may have tasks selected individually.

When Complete, click the Save button.

15. The new role is now active.
