Setting Up Your Gateway III

Introduction Ethernet Networking Skills

Introduction
The manual is intended to provide you with some steps that are required to configure a PPPoE or a
Hotspot Gateway in order it can be interfaced to the Wi5Stars. The gateway must have at least 2
interfaces (1 Ethernet + 1 wireless, or 2 Ethernet), where one ethernet interface will be connected to
the existing network, while on the other interface you have to configure the Hotspot or the PPPoE
Server.

Ethernet Networking Skills

The installer needs to have the ability to configure IP addressing on a PC and to set up and control
products using a web browser interface.

Training
The installer needs to have basic knowledge about network installation. The specific requirements,
applicable to the Wi5Stars, must be gained by reading this user guide and by performing sample setups
and test at own lab before live deployments.
