Along with other members of staff we work with and support
students to identify strengths and weaknesses in order to
overcome barriers to learning.

FILLING IN YOUR PLANNER
§ Make sure you copy your homework timetable into the back of your
planner on the homework timetable page.
§ At the beginning of every week, write the subjects due to set homework
for each day of that week.
§ In the lesson write your homework in when the teacher tells you the work
and where to find it.
§ Write in the due day and date of when the homework has to be handed in.
§ If no homework is set in the lesson, write ‘None set’ in your planner next to
the subject name.
§ Do the homework on the day set.
§ Place one tick next to the homework when you have done it.
§ Use your planner to write in other reminders for the week ahead.

PACKING YOUR
SCHOOL BAG
CARRYING YOUR BAG
§ You will have to carry your bag everywhere you go.
§ Keep your school bag as light as possible.
§ Make good use of your locker – keep heavy items in your locker until
you need them.
§ Only carry stationary in your pencil case that you will need for your
lessons.
§ Only bring to school essential personal items.
§ If you walk to school partially fill your water bottle you can top it up in
school.
§ Don’t bring expensive items into school and risk losing them.

Being organised and using
your planner is your
responsibility.

PRESENTATION
SKILLS
§ School exercise books must be covered
§ Your name, subject, Tutor Group and Teacher on the front cover
§ Work must be presented in accordance to the school presentation policy.
§ School equipment checklist
§ Sketching means free hand.
§ Drawing means with accuracy and neat.
§ Sharp pencil for mathematical and scientific charts, graphs and diagrams
§ DO NOT DOODLE IN YOUR EXERCISE BOOKS.
