Part 1: Social Interaction (3 minutes)


Let’s talk about your family.
- How many people are there in your family?
- What do you often do with your family members in evenings and on weekends?
- Of all your family members, who has the most influence on you?
 In my family, there are four people.
In the evenings and on weekends, we usually watch movies together or go for a walk in
the park.
My mom has the most influence on me.

- What do you often do in your free time?
- Should people go travelling when they have free time?
- What are some common leisure activities in your hometown?
 I usually read or play games when I have free time.

Part 2: Solution Discussion (4 minutes)


Situation: If you were asked to choose a gift out of a dictionary, a self-designed photo
album or a sweater for a friend who is going to study abroad, which would be your
choice?
 I would pick the photo album for my friend who's going to study abroad.

Part 3: Topic Development (5 minutes)


Topic: Reality and talent shows on TV are of benefits.

 Reality and talent show on TV are good because they entertain people and make
contestants famous. They can also inspire young viewers. But sometimes they can
encourage unhealthy competition. These shows should be on TV when families can
watch together, like in the evening or on weekends. Not all TV shows need to be checked
before they're shown, but some should be to make sure they're okay for everyone to
watch, especially kids.

Part 3: Topic Development (5 minutes)


Topic: There are several reasons for people to take up a hobby.
Taking up a hobby

Hobbies can bring joy and relaxation, but they may require time and money. Parents can
suggest hobbies to their children, but it's best to let them choose what they like. In
Vietnam, popular hobbies include traditional crafts, outdoor activities, and cultural
pursuits like music and dance.

- How is the transportation system in your hometown now?

I like traveling by train the most.
In my hometown, we have buses, trains, and taxis. It's convenient, but there can be traffic
sometimes.

Part 2: Solution Discussion (4 minutes)


Situation: You are asked to consider a clothing item, a book or a pair of cinema tickets
as a birthday present for your friend. Which is your best choice?
 For my friend's birthday, I would choose a shirt or a bag as a present.

Part 3: Topic Development (5 minutes)


Topic: Face-to-face communication can be considered the best way of
communication.
Face to face communication can
- help express your feeling directly;
- give and receive instant feedback;
- utilize your body language;

- What important factors do we need to be successful in face-to-face communication?
- What other kinds of communication do you know?

 Face-to-face communication is good because:
 You can share feelings directly.
 You get quick feedback.
 Body language helps.
 It builds strong connections.
To succeed, listen well, understand feelings, and notice body language.
Other ways to communicate include writing and phone calls.
In the future, video calls and messaging apps will be popular, but face-to-face talks will
still be important.
