Landsman Converter for AC/DC Microgrid

The document compares two converter topologies, the existing SEPIC converter and proposed Landsman converter, for use in hybrid energy source microgrids. The Landsman converter provides better dynamic output voltage and less voltage ripple compared to the SEPIC converter. Simulation and experimental results show the Landsman converter has less current ripple and component stress. A PI controller is also used to regulate the Landsman converter output voltage.

III. LANDSMAN AND SEPIC CONVERTER OPEN LOOP


ANALYSIS The simulation of SEPIC converter was done with the
specifications mentioned at TABLE.1
The LANDSMAN and SEPIC converter are being carried
out with open loop analysis, in order to justify why
LANDSMAN converter stands out in certain parameters in a
way ahead of SEPIC converter , this is being done in the
MATLAB/Simulink platform and the results are being
compared in order to justify the points made in this paper.

V. SIMULATION RESPONSE OF LANDSMAN


CONVERTER WITH AND WITHOUT PI CONTROLLER

Here the DC voltage source is used as input source to the


landsman converter at the voltage of around 12V and we are
increasing the value of input at certain period of time and
observe the output changes with and without PI controller.

IV. COMPARISON OF LANDSMAN AND SEPIC


CONVERTER

The results that we have obtained from the


MATLAB/Simulink of both the converters LANDSMAN
and SEPIC are compared below and the betterment of the
landsman converter is tabulated.

is better in terms of the above criteria that we have given
and after finding out that landsman is a better converter
with better output voltage ,less voltage ripple and high
voltage gain and again in the closed loop analysis we got a
conclusion that landsman converter with PI controller is
better when compared with without PI controller as in the
simulation results that we have got that irrespective of the
input voltage ,the output voltage remains constant .The
results establish that the landsman with PI controller is
better in handling the output voltage during peaks and
