a transmission medium.
5. Local area network is a computer network which distances over a large
geographical area.
RECAP
In your lessons in COC1 it involves installing and configuring desktop and
workstation computers systems. It consists of competencies to assemble computer
hardware, install operating system and drivers for peripherals/devices and install
application software as well as to conduct testing and documentation.

3. WAN (Wide Area Network)
WAN is a computer network which spans over a large geographical area such
as country or the world.
Network Devices
Devices are required for communication and interaction between hardware on
a computer network.
1. Router
A device that forwards data packets along networks. A router is connected to
at least two networks and its internet service provider network.

3. Wireless Access Point (WAP)
A device that allows other Wi-Fi devices to connect to a wired network.
4. Modem
A device that converts data into a format suitable for a transmission medium
so that it can be transmitted from one computer to another.
