enthusiastically for achieving predetermined goals.

Leaders express their authority in a variety of ways.

The way that leader shows their power and authority is what we call leadership style.

LEADERSHIP STYLES

Leadership styles are the patterns of behavior which a leader adopts in influencing the
behavior of his subordinates.

Leadership styles vary greatly depending on the individual leader's personality, the context of
the organization, and the goals they're aiming to achieve. Here are some common leadership
styles:

a. Autocratic Leadership: In this style, the leader makes decisions without consulting with the
team. They have full control and authority over their subordinates. While this can lead to
quick decision-making, it may also stifle creativity and motivation in the team.
b. Democratic Leadership: Also known as participative leadership, this style involves the
leader including team members in the decision-making process. It fosters collaboration,
creativity, and engagement among team members.
c. Laissez-Faire Leadership: In this hands-off approach, the leader provides minimal
guidance to the team and allows them to make their own decisions. It works well with highly
skilled and motivated teams but can lead to confusion or lack of direction if the team
requires more structure.
d. Transformational Leadership: Transformational leaders inspire and motivate their team by
providing a compelling vision and setting high expectations. They often lead by example and
empower their team members to reach their full potential.
e. Transactional Leadership: This style focuses on setting clear expectations and providing
rewards or punishments based on performance. Transactional leaders emphasize structure
and efficiency but may not foster innovation or long-term growth.

f. Servant Leadership: Servant leaders prioritize the needs of their team members above
their own. They focus on supporting and developing their team, believing that by serving
them, the team will perform better overall.
g. Charismatic Leadership: Charismatic leaders have a magnetic personality that inspires
followership. They often use their charm and persuasion to rally people around a shared
vision or goal.
h. Situational Leadership: This style involves adapting leadership behavior based on the
situation and the needs of the team. Leaders may need to be more directive (Task-oriented)
in some situations and more supportive (Relationship-oriented) in others.

Each leadership style has its own strengths and weaknesses, and effective leaders often
employ a combination of styles depending on the circumstances.
