INTRODUCTION TO PRACTICAL TRAINING

1.1 INTRODUCTION TO PRACTICAL TRAINING

The summer training is the act of increasing the knowledge and skill. The summer
training is on-the-job training for many professional jobs, more often taken by college
students to supplement their formal education and expose them to world of work. The main
aim is to provide opportunities for the students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical
experience. The students are expected to develop their personality and adapt to the
challenging situation in the real business world. Through the Summer Training Program,
students can able to acquire some skill such as communication skill, interpersonal skill, team
work skill, management skill and problem-solving skill.

In the heart of agricultural enterprises, where the pulse of sustenance beats, the
dhall mill stands as a linchpin in the processing of pulses, providing a staple in diets
worldwide. As we navigate the contemporary landscape of agriculture and food production,
the need to optimize and modernize traditional practices becomes increasingly evident. This
project, "Modernizing Dhall Mill Operations for Enhanced Efficiency," aims to address this
necessity by introducing innovative technologies and methodologies to revitalize the dhall

Quality assurance (QA) is a way of preventing mistakes and defects in

manufactured Products and avoiding problems when delivering products or services to
customers; which ISO 9000 defines as "part of quality management focused on providing
confidence that quality Requirements will be fulfilled". This defect prevention in quality
assurance differs subtly from Defect detection and rejection in quality control and has been
referred to as a shift left since it focuses on quality earlier in the process (i.e., to the left of a
linear process diagram reading left to Right).

The terms "quality assurance" and "quality control" are often used
interchangeably to refer To ways of ensuring the quality of a service or product. For instance,
the term "assurance" is often Used as follows: Implementation of inspection and structured
testing as a measure of quality Assurance in a television set software project at Philips
Semiconductors is described. The term "control", however, is used to describe the fifth phase
of the Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control model. DMAIC is a data-driven quality
strategy used to improve processes.

Quality assurance comprises administrative and procedural activities

implemented in A quality system so that requirements and goals for a product, service or
activity will be fulfilled. It Is the systematic measurement, comparison with a standard,

can be contrasted with quality control, Which is focused on process output.

Information technology (IT) plays a vital role in the field of textile industry.
Any manufacturing unit employs four "M" that is, men, material, machine and of course
money. To get organizational success, managers need to focus on synchronizing all these
factors and developing synergies with in and outside organizational operations. With the
increased competition, companies are taking support of it to enhance its supply chain
management (scm) and using it as a competitive edge. In short, many textile companies are
leveraging the technological power to adding value to their business.

Supply chain management includes: sourcing, procuring, converting, and all the
logistic activities. It seeks to increase the transaction speed by exchanging data in real-time,
reduce inventory, and increased sales volume by fulfilling customer requirements more

SWOT ANALYSIS

4.1 SWOT ANALYSIS

A SWOT analysis is a structured planning method used to evaluate The

strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats involved in a project or in a Business
venture. A SWOT analysis can be carried out for a product, place, industry or Person. It
involves specifying the objective of the business venture or project and Identifying the
internal and external factors that are favourable and unfavourable to Achieve that objective.
Some authors credit SWOT to Albert Humphrey, who led a Convention at the Stanford
research institute (now SRI International) in the 1960s and 1970s using data from fortune 500
companies.

However, Humphrey himself does not Claim the creation of SWOT, and the
origins remain obscure. The degree to which the Internal environment of the firm matches
with the external environment is expressed by the concept of strategic fit. Strength:
characteristics of the business or project that give it an advantage over Others. Weaknesses:
characteristics that place the business or project at a disadvantage Relative to others.
Opportunities: elements that the project could exploit to its advantage. Threat, elements in the
environment that could cause trouble for the business or Project.
