Corridor Smoke Control Calculations

The document calculates the required capacity of smoke extraction fans and corridor pressurization fans for a corridor based on the corridor's floor area, clear height and an extraction rate of 6 air changes per hour. It determines the required fan capacities are 1690 liters per second for smoke extraction fans and 2028 liters per second for corridor pressurization fans.

CORRIDOR SMOKE CONTROL CALCULATIONS

Corridor smoke extracts (CSE)

Smoke extraction fan capacity is based on smoke extract at the rate of 6 ACH for each floor

Corridor Floor area = 288 m2

Corridor Clear Height = 3.2 m

CSE = corridor area * Corridor height * 6ACH *1000/3600 = 1536 L/s

Considering 10% safety factor = 1536 L/s*1.1=1690 L/s

Two fans capacity (CSEF) each = 2535 L/s

Corridor Pressurization (CP)

CP * 0.8 = 2028 L/s

Two fans capacity CPF each = 2028 L/s
