Closing Freeup Clients with Samples and Poker | Jozelle
Ehm Tech

PART 2

Hey hey hey, Ehm Ehm here!

Remember my post the other day?
You can see it here...
[Link]
Yep, I called it a premium client even though it's hourly because I have the luxury to only
work for a few hours a week and still earn thousands of bucks. Isn't that freaking premium?
Iba iba naman kasi tayo ng definition ng premium client diba. Sabi nga ni Tsong Niel, basta
mapa-ngiti ka, okay na. E halos lumuwa yung gilagid ko sa pagka-ngiti e!
You, especially the newbies may be wondering, so paano nga?
Let me share you my formula...
TRIBE's Process and Mindset + GAT (Give and Take) + POKER = WIN

Yep, you've read that right, poker...

FreeeUp marketplace is the poker table and the freelancers are the players.
My skills were my poker chips and I played the game as a HIGH ROLLER.
I've been with FreeeUp for almost 2 years, most of the time I only take Mid Level Rate
$15-$25. That was the first time for me to asked for a Top Expert Level Rate $40-$50 per
hour.
No question asked, they gave it to me and introduced me to the client. Sometimes, if you
want something, you just really have to ask.
So if you know you have or can have a good hand (value), bet higher, become a high roller
player!
The moment I was introduced via email and saw the client's name, punta ako agad sa
Linkedin at Facebook.
Pinag-aralan ko personality nya based sa profile nya. I checked her business' website and
social media pages. Tinignan ko mula about, services, portfolio at client page.
Designer ako, so pinag-aralan ko din kung anong klaseng design ang posibleng
magustuhan nya at ginagawa nila for their clients.

After my quick research, I did a few designs relative dun sa mga napag-aralan ko, tapos
pumili din ako sa old portfolio ko.
Within one hour after introduction, nag-email ako sakanya, lahat ng na-diagnose ko within
that span of time nilagay ko sa email ko.
A personally crafted email talking about her pain points along with the tailored fit examples
plus brand positioning were my secret weapons.
Basta, lahat na ng powerful keywords para ma-emphasize ko yung benefits, gap, pain
points, sinulat ko nadin.
(lahat yan natutunan ko dito sa tribe, view my photos)

So, kumbaga sa poker, I went ALL IN!

Then the client put down her bet on the table (asking for another example - fb ads), and
that's when I bluffed her.
Nope, I didn't lie. I just made her create an assumption herself that I have good cards (fb ad
design skills).
Along with these lines... "Here you go! (attachment) I did a few Facebook ad designs for LC.
I know these were boosted as Thomas, my client, gave me an update about it."
To be honest, 1 beses palang ako nakakapag-design ng legit na Facebook Ad na na-boost
talaga ng client, pero di ko alam kung naging successful, sabi lang nya, na-accept ng
Facebook yung design. (Oh, update naman talaga yun diba, haha!)
And then, here comes my poker BACKER who staked on my game.
I have a great working relationship with Nathan, the CEO of FreeeUp, so he always
vouched for me. And if I win this client, he wins too!
Now, the dealer (FreeeUp's Admin) is gonna put down the last card, THE RIVER (the
moment of truth).

And so I put on my POKER FACE!

I badly want to win this client, but I never showed her that I am desperate to close her.
I just kept my cool, provide everything she needs, feeds her ego, and fuel her with value.
In times of trouble... our real intentions are triggered, and that is to GET, but we can only get
something if we GIVE something first.
Hindi pwedeng give lang ng give, or get lang ng get, dapat balanse.

GAT - GIVE value and TAKE their money!

In the end... I won the client, still with a poker face, but a smiling heart!

This method helped me closed 3 NEW clients last night.
Sabi nga nila... when it rains, it pours...

but mates, wait for your rainbow! It's freaking beautiful!!!

Hanggang sa susunod na tournament...
PS: Kuyz John, Tsong Shoden, GG4, Bossbabes, Tribe - tara, poker tayo sa next meetup,
premium clients ang trophy!
Rolling with you,

Ehm - The High Roller
