LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE VI

I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson, students must be able to;
A. Describe how heat is transferred
B. Identify the three different ways of how heat is being transferred.
C. Apply what you have learned about heat transfer.
II. CONTENT
A. Heat Transfer
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References: Science Link 6
B. Other Learning Resources
 PowerPoint for Presentation
IV. PROCEDURES

TEACHER PUPILS
A. ENGAGE
Preliminary Activities:
 Prayer
 Checking of Attendance
 Review of the previous lesson.

Ask the students the following questions:

Who among you can share their experience/s

involving heat energy in their everyday lives?
1. While drinking hot coffee, have you tried
heating your palm by holding the mug/cup?
2. While cooking, have you experienced getting
burned by accidentally touching the stove?

The topic and objectives of the lesson will be

presented to the class.

Topic: Heat Transfer through Conduction,

Convection, and Radiation.

Objectives:

A. Describe how heat is transferred

B. Identify the three different ways of how heat
is being transferred.
C. Apply what you have learned about heat
transfer.

B. EXPLORE
 The students will identify the
molecules of solid, liquid and gas
using the pictures.
Follow up questions:
 What is the difference between heat
and temperature?
 What device is used to measure the
temperature of an object?

C. EXPLAIN

 The teacher will show a

PowerPoint presentation using
projector.

 The teacher explain what is

conduction and convection.

 In relation to the lesson, the teacher

will give an activity about
conduction and convection.

Activity:

Fill in the blanks. Complete the statement

below.
1. It is the transfer of heat from one place to
another by movement of fluids _________
2. Heat that occurs within or between solid
objects is called________
3. Heat always flows from________ areas to
________areas.

D. ELABORATE

 The teacher will now generalized the

lesson by checking whether the
answers of all the students are correct
or. Not.
 Follows by explaining the third process
of heat transfer which is radiation,
using PowerPoint presentation.

E. EVALUATE

Part I.
DIRECTION: Find the words contained in
the graph related to our lesson heat
transfer.

Part II.
Directions: Complete the term for the defined
science concept.
