General Safety Information 0

When performing the work steps and checks, observe the general safety information for
medical products. (TD00-000.860.01 / General Safety Notes)
After completing repair work and before turning the system over to the customer, the
ground wire resistance of the unit has to be tested.

Product-specific Safety Information 0

CAUTION [hm_Serv_Training]

Incorrect service can lead to damage for personnel and sys-

tem.
Lack of training can result in failure.
¹ Service is only permitted by trained personnel.

M WARNING AXIOM Artis dFCM and dBCM Systems with Magnetic Navi-
gation (NIOBE):
The two permanent magnets are installed by the Stereotaxis
Company. Magnetic objects can be attracted by the two per-
manent magnets and can fly through the air like shots.
¹ The safety information in the technical documents
from the Stereotaxis Company absolutely must be
observed.

M DANGER Strong Magnetic Field in the MR Room!

If the AXIOM Miyabi safety information is not observed, death
or serious bodily injury can occur.
¹ Observe the AXIOM Miyabi safety information,
(AXA4-000.860.01 / AXIOM Miyabi).

WARNING [hm_serv_WarnSetUPSPowerMayBePresent]

If a UPS option is configured for the image system, it is pos-

sible that the UPS is still supplying the image system with
voltage when the line power is switched off.
If not observed, death or serious bodily injury can occur.
¹ If the UPS is configured, unplug the power input con-
nector in the image system or switch off the UPS prior
to beginning service work.

6 General Information

WARNING [hm_serv_LabelPowerPresent]
Even after switching off the system (Shutdown), power is still
present at the control cabinet and generator.
If not observed, death or serious bodily injury can occur.
¹ Observe the warning signs in the cabinets.
¹ Switch off the power supply to the X-ray system with
the on-site on/off switch.

WARNING [hm_serv_CheckBypassImage]
Bypass image is not displayed on exam room display.
This can cause to an Interruption of interventional proce-
dure.
¹ Perform check of the bypass signal after service proce-
dure. With transition to bypass the analog video signal
is fed as second source to the live display in the exam
room. The display must switch in less than 2 seconds
to the analog signal (prio).

WARNING [hm_serv_FixCablesAfterService]
Unwanted disconnection of electrical cables.
This can cause to an interruption of interventional proce-
dure.
¹ Check fixation of connectors and cables after service
procedures.

WARNING If there is a computer crash during “Service Radiation ON”,

radiation is not automatically stopped.
¹ If there is a computer crash, immediately press the
on-site system emergency off switch.

L WARNING [hm_ serv_NoteProtectEyes]

Laser Class 3B units having a maximum output of 500 mW.

This kind of laser is used for the image transfer
a) from the FD to the RTC
b) from the RTC to the Image System.
The laser beam is invisible, dangerous to the human eye, and
in some cases, to the skin.
¹ Proper use must be observed.
¹ Required safety equipment must be used.

Removing a Board from a PCI Slot (e.g. SIRC PCI Board):

1. Red Securing Clip (13/Fig. 4 / p. 12)
It is located on the top guide rail for the board and must be removed to remove a
board from a PCI slot. To do this, press the clip together with your index fingers and
simultaneously pull it forward out of the guide.
2. SIRC PCI Board (2/Fig. 4 / p. 12)
It has a connection location for the piggy back board (D21 EGG board (option)) and is
part of the SIRC PCI board.
- All other boards (PCI slot components) are comprised of only one board.
3. Removing the Mechanical Board Securing Devices (14/Fig. 4 / p. 12)
- Disengage the board securing mechanism prior to removing a board. To do this,
first loosen the wing nut (15/Fig. 4 / p. 12) and then manually move the mechanism
into the long holes.
After disengaging the mechanism, also remove the board securing strip prior to
pulling out a board. To do this, (16/Fig. 4 / p. 12) unscrew the 2 screws pull the
mount out towards the front.
4. Carefully pull the board out of the PCI slot and place it down on an ESD mat.

Completely Replacing the RTC 19

Removing and Installing the RTC 3.2

1. The system must be completely switched off.

2. Unplug all connectors on the front panel (SIRC connector panel) and on the top of
the RTC.
3. Remove the four Allen screws for the RTC frame mount.(2/Fig. 3 / p. 11).
4. If needed, remove the Ethernet switch assembly over the RTC from the electronics
cabinet.
E 5. Swing out the front doors of the RTC after removing the 7 screws (1/Fig. 3 / p. 11)
and disconnect all fiber optic cables from the FDR board and pull them out of the
RTC.
6. To prevent damage to the GIGALINK connector, the appropriate protective cap must
be placed on it.
7. Remove the defective RTC.
E 8. Systems with the ECG Option:
Remove the ECG Interface Component (EIC).
- Remove the slot plate on the top of the RTC with the X50, X51 connectors.
- Remove the SIRC PCI board.
- Remove the D21 board on the SIRC PCI board.
- Plug in the D21 board on the SIRC PCI board of the new RTC.
- Install the SIRC PCI board and slot plate with the X50, X51 connectors in the new
RTC.
E 9. Install the new RTC in the cabinet in the reverse order of the steps above.
Check whether all connectors are free of dirt and correctly engaged and, if appli-
cable, threaded in place.
Especially make sure that the Gigalink connectors (bayonet connectors) is cor-
rectly engaged on the FDR board.
10. SIRC PCI board: Check the S10 DIPP switches (Watchdog):
- S10.1,2,4 DIPP switches set to ON.
- S10.3 DIPP switch set to OFF.
11. Plug in all previously disconnected connectors again.
12. If applicable, reinstall the Ethernet switch assembly in the electronics cabinet.
13. Check all boards and connectors for secure seating and good contact.

Packaging the RTC as a Return Part for Return 3.3

Pack the defective RTC in the original packaging in exactly the same way as the new RTC
was shipped.
Make sure there is exactly the same seating in the foam plastic parts, otherwise it is pos-
sible that the RTC will be damaged during transport because of its great weight. In this hap-
pens, there will be no credit issued for the returned part!

Starting Up the ECC 3.4

NOTE The RTC download via LAN is described below.

• If configuration of the MAC address or the LAN boot does
not function, it can be "forced". To do this, it is best to
connect a USB keyboard to the front of the RTC. (A PS/2
keyboard is also possible; this must be connected to the
top of the RTC in the violet socket).

1. Switch on the system and let it boot up.

2. Click on Options > Service > Local Service to open the ’Service Software’ window.
3. Enter the ’Password’ and confirm with OK.
4. Click on Configuration in the “Service SW” window.
5. Click on Update Mac (RTCs) under “Artis System”.
- If the following window appears, confirm with OK and continue with Point 12.

SIRC, Introduction
5Replacing the Connector Panel

The SIRC is comprised of the SIRC-Connector-Panel and the SIRC-PCI Platine that are
connected to each other by three ribbon cables (X60/61/62).
The SIRC-Connector-Panel is the central connection point for the system data and signal
cables.
Two 7-segment displays, V45/44, display the RTC boot routine. The status of voltages and
signals can be read from the status LEDs. Test points on the X73 measuring strip are used
to check important input and output signals and voltages. The S1 switch is used to enable
radiation using the software for service purposes. In the normal mode, it is set to OFF.
