Shruthi Rajasekar is an American composer and singer of Indian origin, who writes in South Indian classical (Carnatic) and Western classical
styles.
About this piece, Shruthi explains, ‘I am an American who has lived in the UK, and I wrote this piece to highlight a fascinating episode of shared
history between the two countries. I wish I had learnt about Virginia Hall in school; hers and the accomplishments of many other extraordinary
women are stories that we ought to know! Virginia Hall was a celebrated spy for the Allied Forces during the Second World War. She later became
one of the first agents of the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency).’
