Description :

Srirangapatna Fort is a historical fort located in Srirangapatna, the historical capital city of
the Kingdom of Mysore in present-day South Indian state of Karnataka. Built by the Timmanna
Nayaka in 1454, the fort was modified by later rulers and fully fortified in the late 18th century
with the help of French architects. Rulers wanted to protect it against British invaders associated
with the East India Company.
Rivers protect the fort on three sides. The river Kaveri borders the fort in one direction; in the
West and Northern directions it is protected by the river Cauvery. The fort contained Lal Mahal
and Tipu's palace, which were demolished when the British captured it in 1799. There are seven
outlets and two dungeons.

Questionaire and reply :

[Link] it is called as Summer Palace?
Ans -Tipu Sultan's palace, located in Srirangapatna,
Karnataka, India, is often referred to as the "Summer
Palace" because it served as a retreat for Tipu Sultan
during the hot summer months. The palace was
strategically situated amidst beautiful gardens and near
the banks of the Cauvery River, providing a cooler and
more pleasant environment compared to his main
residence in the city. The term "summer palace"
signifies its function as a seasonal residence, typically
used during the warmer months of the year.

Waste management importance :

Environmental Preservation: Effective waste management
helps prevent pollution, conserve natural resources, and protect
ecosystems. Proper disposal and recycling reduce the impact
of waste on air, soil, and water quality, contributing to a
healthier environment.
Public Health: Adequate waste management practices,
including proper sanitation and waste disposal facilities,
prevent the spread of diseases. Inadequate waste handling can
lead to contamination of water sources and the breeding of
disease vectors, posing risks to public health.
Resource Conservation: Waste management involves
recycling and reusing materials, reducing the need for raw
resource extraction. This conserves energy and natural
resources, promoting a more sustainable and circular economy.

Benefits of segregation :
1. Enhanced Recycling
2. Resource Recovery
3. Reduced Environment Impact

Collection, Transportation ,Disposal method:

Collection:
Efficient collection systems ensure that waste is gathered from
various sources, including households, commercial
establishments, and public spaces.
Transportation:
Once collected, waste needs proper transportation to
designated disposal or treatment facilities. This involves using
suitable vehicles to transport waste safely, considering factors
like distance, volume, and the type of waste being transported.
Disposal Methods:
Disposal methods include various processes like landfilling,
incineration, and recycling, depending on the nature of the
waste.
