The Japanese composer Yoshinao Nakada has written many works for young players. ‘The Song of Twilight’ is from his Piano Pieces for Children
(こどものピアノ曲 Kodomo no piano kyoku), a collection of 17 pieces written in 1955 and subsequently released in the US under the title
Japanese Festival. Although the composer’s metronome mark is q = 66, students may prefer a slightly slower tempo, for example q = c.60.
In the exam, the repeat should be played.
