a. represent the addition of numbers with sums up to 10 using concrete objects and pictorial
models;
b. perform the addition of numbers with sums up to 10 by counting and putting together the
pictorial models;
c. solve the addition of numbers with sums up to 10 by counting and putting together the
pictorial models;

Addition is putting object together or
combining the objects together. Just like what
we do earlier we count the object you have
and combine it with your seatmate we do the
addition.
I will give everyone a straw.

Now I have a box with two holes and small
balls. We will be going to add using this. I
will drop the ball without counting it. If I drop
a ball in the left hole, you will use the straw
as counters or represent of the ball I drop and
put it on your desk. And then I will drop
another ball on the right hole, again use the
straw as counters of the ball I drop and
separate it on the desk. After that I will ask
you if how many ball, I drop in all, you will
know the answers by putting together all the
straw you separate and use as counters.
