Course Objectives - Introducing students to various 16th and 17th century
schools of poetry through the analysis of
representative poetic texts.
- Concentrating on the poets' manipulation of
language to highlight their themes.
-Encouraging students to use the English language
through classroom discussions of chosen poetic texts.
9. Teaching and Learning Strategies
Strategy - Reading the poem in class, analyzing and commenting on the text.
- A class discussion of the poem through questions and answers.
- A power point presentation for each poem to shed light on the
aesthetic aspect of the poem.
