1 How to connect using RDP
Objective
Establish connection to the training landscape using the provided Remote Desktop Services
infrastructure.
Please make sure you have a program that supports RDP over https.

1.1 Establish connection to the central Terminal Server (Windows)
1. Start Remote Desktop on your PC
2. Click on Show Options
3. Select the Advanced tab.
4. Click on Settings
5. Enter the RD Gateway Server i.e.
rdp2.kmudemo.ch
6. Set options according to screenshot.
7. Click on OK.

8. Select the General tab.
9. Enter the destination server i.e.
10.0.0.41 and the user information in the
format:
kmudemo\<USER>
(see cheat sheet).
10. Click on Connect.
11. Enter your password and click on OK.

12. Accept the settings and click on Yes.

1. Click on Launchpad
2. Locate your Microsoft Remote Desktop
App
3. Start Remote Desktop App
Hint:
If it is not installed yet, please install it from
the App Store

connection

3 T oubleshooting
3.1 Remote Session Disconnected - License modified
If you suddenly get this error:
The remote session was disconnected because the remote desktop client access license stored on this
computer has been modified
3.1.1 Solution:
The steps you must follow are:
• Edit the registry (if you have no clue how, please stop reading and ask someone from IT to do it
for you)
• Just to be sure, backup the registry or create a restore point
• Delete the key located at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing
Now the next time the client connects to the server, it will obtain another license.
