SECTION A

1 Discuss any two possible reactions of the people towards social problems.
2 Discuss the relevance of ‘anomie’ in the context of understanding social problem.
3 Examine the family support system and health care available for the elderly in India.
4 Write a short note on gender and ageing in India.
5 What is privatization? Explain how it is ushered by globalization.
6 Explain the concept of urbanization.
7 Spreading awareness about one's Civil and Political Rights can become a major step
in dealing with many Social Problems. Elaborate.
8 With your study and understanding on Human Rights Issues, how are you going to
contribute in protecting the rights of the under-privileged?

Answer any 4 questions out of 6 Questions 4X10 =40
9 Write a letter to the Chief of City Traffic Police, Bangalore with strong arguments
like how Traffic is a major social problem and needs immediate attention. Provide
possible solutions.
10 Elaborate the different dimensions of child abuse in India. Does it have any
connection with the changes in family patterns? Substantiate your argument.
11 Explain the plight of HIV/AIDS people in India. How do societal attitudes worsen
their situation.
