MULTIPLE

intelligence
Nargiz Rzayeva
"İntelligence is not a single general ability, but a
combination of different types"
What is Multiple Intelligence?
Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple
Intelligences was introduced in 1983. He
argued that traditional views of
intelligence, which focus mainly on logical
and linguistic abilities, are too limited.
Instead, he proposed that people have
various kinds of intelligences that reflect
different ways of interacting with the
world.
Gardner's Eight Intelligences
Linguistic Intelligence: Logical-Mathematical
Intelligence: Spatial Intelligence:
Sensitivity to language,
Ability to reason and work Thinking in three
reading, writing (e.g., with numbers (e.g., dimensions (e.g., architects)
writers, poets) mathematicians)

Bodily-Kinesthetic
Musical Intelligence:
Intelligence:
Sensitivity to rhythm, pitch,
Using the body effectively
and tone (e.g., musicians)
(e.g., athletes, dancers)

Interpersonal Intelligence:
Naturalist Intelligence:
Understanding and
Recognizing patterns in
interacting with others (e.g.,
teachers, therapists)
nature (e.g., biologists)
Benefits for Students

Engaging students through their strengths.

Encourages deeper understanding and motivation.
Helps students develop a broader range of skills.
Classroom Application
We can use a variety of teaching methods to cater
to different intelligences and learning styles.

Let's match
1. Linguistic learners 1. Songs, rhythms
2. Outdoor lessons or nature
2. Logical-mathematical learners
examples
3. Spatial learners 3. Reflection activities
4. Bodily-kinesthetic learners 4. Movement-based activities (role
5. Musical learners play)
5. Problem-solving tasks
6. Interpersonal learners
6. Group work
7. Intrapersonal learners 7. Visual aids (maps, diagrams)
8. Naturalist learners 8. Reading/writing activities
Conclusion

According to Howard Gardner, people

don’t just have one type of intelligence.
Everyone has a mix of the different
intelligences, but in varying degrees. The
key idea is that we all have multiple
intelligences that work together, and
each person’s unique combination helps
them learn and interact with the world
in their own way.
