UNIGRAPHICS (NX): -
HISTROY OF NX: -
NX formerly known as UG.
Initially developed in the year of 1972 as UNI-APT.
Developed by Siemens PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software.
After UNI-APT it was known as “UNIGRAPHICS” in 1973.
In 2002 both I-DEAS (Integrated Design and Engineering Analysis
Software) & siemens released the software and named as “NX”.
USES: -
This software comes in PLM package & it is extensively used in many
big automotive OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) like Ford,
Nissan & General Motors.

CONSTRAINTS: -
Constraints means to restrict degree of freedom of any geometry.
Constraints are generally applied on a sketch or geometry to achieve a
better control over the geometry and to make the future modification
easier.
There are 2 types of constraints taken under classification
Dimensional Constraints
Geometrical Constraints
Dimensional Constraints: - By applying dimensional constraints,
we can restrict degrees of freedom for the size of the geometry.
Geometrical Constraints: - By applying dimensional constraints,
we can restrict degrees of freedom for the shape, location & position
of the geometry.
Colour Constraints in NX: -
Dark Green colour - Active sketch
Maroon colour - Sketch is partially constraint
Light Green colour - Sketch is fully constraint
Red colour - Sketch is over constraint
Pink colour - Sketch having conflict constraint
