IOT and Machine Learning based Innovative
Farming Techniques for better Agriculture
System
Abstract:
Nowadays, the agriculture constitutes one of the leading sources of foods and it
contributes to the national income and livelihood of most countries. However, in
the last two decades, the agriculture is facing several challenges such as the
increasing demand for food, the extreme weather conditions, the rising of
climate change, etc. Hence, in order to overcome these challenges, the
agriculture needs to be smarter by integrating new technologies with the aim to
enhance the productivity and reduce the agriculture cost and waste. Recently,
the emergence of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has led to a new
revolution in the agriculture called as smart agriculture. In this paper, we
propose a real-time Agriculture monitoring, called AGRO, mechanism for
efficiently sensing the soil moisture of a field and enhancing the irrigation
system. In this paper we proposed the main elements of 1. Crop monitoring and
protection(yield prediction, disease detection), [Link] management(soil
monitoring, weather monitoring), [Link] protection(wild animals detecting and
alerting, insets detection),etc
Using the raspberry pi and various sensors for soil moisture, water levels, and
environmental conditions, the system automates irrigation based on real-time
data. It communicates through the real-time server, allowing remote monitoring
via a mobile app. The project includes a smart algorithm for crop selection and
irrigation control. By considering soil moisture and water availability, the
system adapts to different crops like rice, wheat, potato, and corn. The project
promotes sustainability by optimizing water usage and encourages efficient crop
growth. The integration of a manual crop count for field feedback enhances
decision-making. Overall, this system presents a user-friendly and innovative
solution for precision agriculture, showcasing the transformative potential of
IoT, data analytics, and machine learning in modernizing farming practices.
