important decisions or take action without having to get permission from anyone else
(Collins dictionary).
General Responsibility of a Civil Engineer (API)
1. Analyze the proposed site location and the entire construction job, including every step
of the way of the process of completing the job.
2. Plan the construction project based on the results of the analysis
3. Inspect the product both during and after construction to ensure that all rules and
guidelines have been followed explicitly.
Specific Duties of a Civil Engineer
1. Carrying out building planning in accordance with the functional requirements
suggested by the client or user. They must plan the structure in accordance with the
bylaws.
2. Communicate to ensure project cohesion and fluidity.
3. Writing detailed reports of what is acceptable and what needs to be changed prior to
starting the project.
4. Going over the plans and project sites again to ensure all necessary changes have
been made.
5. Examine photographs, drawings, and maps to inform project direction as well as budget
constraints.
6. Regulate the project from beginning to end, ensuring that the procedure is followed and
will check on the project’s safety features.
Civil engineers are usually the primary point of contact for the construction project. They
should also have a fundamental understanding of practical construction techniques on site.
This will help them execute the actions correctly and create the necessary design.
