2. I am going to speak against the statement that there is too much footage of violence on television
news. Firstly, let us think about the belief that watching violence on TV makes people act more
violently. It is clearly the case that many people believe this, but the crucial point is that there is
actually very little research evidence to back this up. It is almost certainly something of a myth if a
very popular one.
