Duration : 2 hours Maximum Marks : 100

Note : There are five compulsory questions in this paper carrying 80 marks.
Rest 20 marks are for viva-voce.

1. (a) Execute the following Linux commands: 10

(i) Chdir

(ii) who

(iii) ls

(iv) tail

(v) ps

(b) Create a new file named “exam.txt”, using any method, containing a
sentence: “IGNOU exam”. Change the file permission of this file to
rwxrwx … . 6

2. (a) Use a word processor software to create a flyer for “BCA Programme
Introduction”. You may use different styles an effects. 10

(b) Create the following formula using a word processer: 6

3. Create 4 Power Point slides about the examination process of BCA. All the
four slides should have: 16

(i) Proper headings, slide number and slide notes.

(ii) Timer based transition from one slide to other

(iii) You should also add one image in the last slide.

4. (a) Below one the details of the monthly income of a person. Create a
spreadsheet using appropriate format for the sample labels and data.
You must create formulae to compute Tax, Bonus and net income. The
tax is 10% of monthly income, Bonus is 5% on the monthly income and
net income is monthly income – tax + bonus. 10

5. Write an email inviting your five friends to attend your presentation scheduled

your parents/guardian. You should setup an alert in the desktop to notify
whenever e-mails are received in your e-mail box. 16
