Read the text carefully and do the activities:

Conflict can happen when family members have different views or beliefs
that clash. Sometimes conflict can occur when people misunderstand each other.
Issues of conflict that are not resolved peacefully can lead to arguments and
resentment.
One of the most common factors that trigger family conflicts is a lack of
open communication. It also often stem from responsibilities. Misunderstandings
may arise from the way family members divide household chores and other
responsibilities. Spouses and siblings often argue over money management and
inheritance issues in the family.

No matter what caused a particular argument, it is important to know how


to prevent further escalation. Some tips may help to resolve conflicts including:
Try to stay calm, try to put emotions aside, don’t interrupt others while they are
speaking, and actively listen to what they are saying. All in all, communicating in
a positive way can help reduce argument so that family members can reach a
peaceful resolution.
