1. Read about Carlos and his sister.

My Sister and I
I am Carlos, I am a boy. My sister is Maria, she is a girl. My body is
very different from Maria’s body. We wear different clothes. Maria
always wears dresses and she rarely wears pants. I always wear
t-shirts and pants. We are different but we are similar, too. I like
to play with toys, dolls, and cars. Maria likes to play with me. I help
my mother and my father cook. Maria sets the table. She helps
clean the floor and I wash the dishes. I am a boy and she is a girl
but we can do the same activities.

The Shapes of the World

The World We Live In

You can see different things around the world.
You can see animals, plants, and people.
The world is full of beauty. There is one thing
in common you can find everywhere you go:
shapes. Shapes are everywhere. You look at the
sky and you see stars. You look at a door and you
see a rectangle. Some candies come in circles.
Traffic signs have the shape of triangles, octagons,
and squares. The world is amazing and shapes

Transportation

People use different means of transportation every

day. Some people take the bus or a cab to go to work.
Others even ride a motorcycle. Helicopters help people
to get somewhere very fast. When we travel to another
country, we use airplanes. You can travel by car, too.
My friends and I ride a scooter, and sometimes a
skateboard at the park. Near the park, there are trucks
bringing food. Horses also help to carry food. You can
see many horses in the countryside. Boats take people
through the sea. This is fantastic!
