Modeling: Track systems with the System Browser

You will learn how to use the System Browser to


review systems.

Learning objectives:

• Review systems in the System Browser.


• Adjust settings to review system The completed exercise
information.

1. Open the exercise file:


L1_09_SystemBrowser.rvt. This exercise file
has the following file linked: ARCH_LINK.rvt.

2. To open the System Browser, on the View


ribbon, in the Windows panel, expand the
User Interface button and select System
Browser.

3. In the System Browser, expand the drop-


down at the top to choose what the browser
is showing. With Systems selected, the filter
drop-down can be used to filter the System
Browser by discipline.

4. The branches in the System Browser can be


expanded and collapsed.

5. When the cursor hovers over a listing in the
System Browser, the associated system or
component will highlight in the drawing area.

6. When the cursor hovers over a component


and several other branches highlight, this
indicates that there are additional
connectors on the component that are
grouped under these branches.

7. Right-click a system type, system, or


component to access options related to that
listing.

8. Click Column Settings in the upper right to


access the Column Settings dialog.

9. In the Column Settings dialog, choose which


columns of information should appear in the
System Browser.
