Type 1:Comparison of more than / less than

Mary had 1825 g of sugar. She had 676 g of sugrar more than June. How much sugar did
Mary and June have altogether?

Ronan had 2 times as many lollipops as sweets. He had 39 fewer sweets than lollipops. He
then bought an equal number of lollipops and sweets and had a total of 321 lollipops and
sweets. How many lollipops did Ronan have in the end?

The length of a rectangle is 3 times its breadth. After its length is shortened by 24 cm and
its breadth is shortened by 2 cm, it will form a square. Find the area of the square.

Type 2: Involving Multiples

Sean paid $132 for 3 identical notebooks and 4 identical files. Each file cost two times as
much as notebook. How much did each notebook cost?

Anissa bought 5 shirts and 9 hats. She paid $406. Each shirt cost 4 times as much as each
hat. How much did Anissa pay for the shirts?

Michelle spent $29 on 2 identical cups and 6 identical plates. A cup cost $2.50 more than a
plate. Find the cost of a cup.

Type 3 : Involving Repeated Quantities

Sam has $248.50 less than Tom. Tom has three times as much money as Umar. Given that
the boys have $1077.30 altogether, how much does Sam have?

In a box, there were some red, blue and green markers. There were 36 red and blue markers
altogether. 16 markers were not red and 24 markers were not blue. How many green
markers were there?

Laura, Kayla and Caleb shared 268 stickers. Caleb received 132 stickers. Laura received 46
stickers fewer than Kayla. How many stickers did Laura receive?

Type 4 : Same Amount (Before/After)

Sage had 7 tanks of fishes. At first, each tank contained the same number of fishes. He gave
away 12 fishes from each tank. In the end, the total number of fishes in the 7 tanks were the
same as the total number of fishes in 3 tanks at first. How many fishes were there in each
tank at first?

Jerry put an equal number of chocolate bars into 8 boxes at first. He then removed the
chocolate bars from 3 boxes and put them into the remaining 5 boxes. Then the number of
chocolate brs in each remaining boxes increased by 12. What was the number of chocolate
bars in each box at first?

The children at summer camp were divided equally into Team A and Team B. There were 18
more boys than girls in Team A. There were 8 more girls than boys in Team B.
(a) How many more boys were there in Team A than in Team B?
(b) There were 37 boys in the summer camp. How many girls were there at the summer
camp?
