Background of dampa

- Dampa was first played by Cebuano with the


use of rubber bands or “Lastiko”. Many years
later, the game become one of the most
played traditional games by Filipino children
that surely completed their childhood.
Objectives:
the objective of the games is to remove the
rubber band beyond the line for the act of
producing air for a dome shape pops.In other
words a player must be a controlled
producing of amount air in order for the
rubber bands to move forward.
Mechanics:
• Minimum of two players

• Sequence will be determined through “palagunting” or “bato-bato-


pick/jack-en-poy” Maegan

• Dampa is usually played outdoors as a requires an open space of around


5 meters or more. During the game, Players take turns to move an odd
number of rubber bands beyond the designated
line.
• When successful, he wins the round and take the rubber bands that went
beyond the line as his loot. But if the player moves an even number of
rubber bands beyond the line, his opponent takes those rubber bands.
RULES OF THE GAMES:
• players will determined the sequence to dampa the rubber
band through “palagunting” or “Jack-em-poy” and
rurumpiang if there are three or more players.

• The rubber bands should be piled one on top of the other on


the ground.

• Each player takes a turn in moving the rubber bands out


from the heap.
Materials:
Rubber bands or Filipino lastiko
Chalk or charcoal

Skills develop:
• Arm strength

• courtesy regarding other players mistakes

• skill to produce an amount of air with their palm

• spatial awareness

• coordination

• Accuracy
