Carbohydrates or carbs are one the most three important elements found in foods and drinks. Our
bodies break down carbohydrates into glucose or blood sugar. They are the main sources of energy.
Glucose goes to the liver to store energy for using it later. I remember one day I stopped eating carbs for
a month and I would go to the gym every day. What I skipped was the breakfast meal because of having
to go to work and then to the gym immediately. This affected my health status pretty much, and I
started to feel tired and weak easily. It affected my stamina increasingly. I knew that I was it because of
not eating carbs and having breakfast before starting my day in a good way.
Brain lipids are an essential element of having long-lasting energy and to function well every day.
Recently, I developed a habit of eating nut like cashews, walnuts, almonds, and pistachio along with
dates. I noticed there is a huge difference in my level during the day, and I started to feel better and
function well. My focus has increased dramatically due to eating fats. I started to drink cocktails and
milkshakes using avocados and other fruits full of fats. According to Yoon, “rain lipids are primarily
composed of PC, cholesterol (Chol), PE, phosphatidylserine (PS), and SM, which are involved in brain
functions including organ homeostasis, cell formation and maintenance, and signal transduction. Chol is
synthesized in astrocytes and transferred to neurons via the formation and secretion of Chol-rich
apolipoprotein (APOE-Chol)” (Yoon, 2022, para. 6).
Last week, I wen to the beach with my friends, and I swam from three hours in a row. I got tired and
burned a lot of calories. After swimming, I played beach ball and tennis with my friends. I made sure to
eat meals that have proteins in them before I went. It helped me maintain my stamina after I took a rest
for a short time. According to Kubala, “Protein helps repair and build your body’s tissues. It drives
metabolic reactions, maintains pH and fluid balance, and keeps the immune system strong. It also
transports and stores nutrients and can act as an energy source” (Kubala, 2023, para. 1).
Nucleic acids like DNA and RNA helps in carrying the blueprint for cellular functions. The DNA helps in
sending instructions for building proteins that are crucial for every process. However, RNA helps in
carrying the instructions. In all my family, we have fast metabolism that helps us with whatever eat, we
digest it fast. I have a friend whose metabolism is slow, and he cannot eat the same amount that I eat.

The evolution of drama. The most compelling regarding the evolution of drama, age, and geographical
region is ancient Greece. The Greek drama, and more specifically tragedy, started the basics of Western
dramatic tradition. Most countries around the world took a good care of art especially drama, and they
worked on developing it all the time. According to Styan, “In spite of the wide divergencies in purpose
and convention of plays as diverse as the popular Kabuki of Japan and the coterie comedies of the
Restoration in England, a Javanese puppet play and a modern social drama by the American
dramatist Arthur Miller, all forms of dramatic literature have some points in common. Differences
between plays arise from differences in conditions of performance, in local conventions, in the purpose
of theatre within the community, and in cultural history” (Styan, 2024, para. 6).
The King Oedipus talked about several crucial features of drama, like conflict, character, plot, and
catharsis. All of them were seen in Prettyman’s Features of Drama.

Principles of Finance 2
Net Present Value is an important method in business that helps us know how much a certain project
can add value to the business it is aimed at. According to Fernando, “Net present value (NPV) is the
difference between the present value of cash inflows and the present value of cash outflows over a
period. NPV is used in capital budgeting and investment planning to analyze a project's projected
profitability” (Fernando, 2024, para. 1). There are some steps we have to follow to know the net present
value of a project. First, we should estimate future cash flows and how much money the project will
generate over time. Second, we have to choose a discount rate which is the rate of return of the
company that reflects the risk and the opportunity cost of it. Then, the future cash flows should be
discounted.
Net present value provides important information for a management team, as it tells them if the project
will make money after factoring the cost of money. Why do we need factor the money? Because we
need to see what we can do with the same amount of money over time. The present money is more
important than the future money.
The management use the NPV to make decisions by some techniques. If the NPV is positive, it means
that the project will generate more value that its cost. If the NPV is negative, it means that it will
generate less money than its cost. If the NPV is zero, the project will not win or lose.
