Step 1: Create a Folder with Your Name and VU ID


Open your Kali terminal and run following commands:

mkdir YourName-VUID (Create a directory using your Name and VU ID)

cd YourName-VUID
Replace YourName-VUID with your actual full name and VU ID (e.g., AliKhan-123456).

Step 2: Information Gathering (Reconnaissance)


 Use the nslookup command to identify the IP address of the target web server as given
below:

nslookup demo.testfire.net

Note: Use the IP address found here in the next step.

Step 3: Scan the Web Server using Nmap

Use the IP address from Step 2 to perform a scan with service version detection by using the
following command.
nmap -sS -sV <Target_IP_Address>
