▪ [Link] is an undergraduate programme under NEP scheme. Through this course connect the
class room learning to real world environment, an individual can learn practical, professional
and the technical skills associated with many of the procedures of financial analysis and
accounting standards.
▪ In the Bangalore university [Link] programme, we are having a subject internship in which
we have to work hands om training under a company for a period of 4-6 weeks.
▪ As a part of academic, I did my internship at AMMA’N’ GOLD & DIAMONDS LLP for 24
days (90 hours). In this period, I have learnt how to manage Sales , Accounts and Bills.

Sales, Accounts, and Billing are three of the most crucial pillars in any business organization. They
ensure a continuous cycle of revenue generation, financial recording, and cash flow management.
During my internship, I had the opportunity to observe and participate in the operations of these
interconnected departments. This section provides an overview of each function and how they
collectively contribute to the smooth running of a business.
1. Sales
Meaning:
Sales refer to the process of selling goods or services in exchange for money. It involves
identifying customer needs, offering suitable products or services, and finalizing transactions that
generate revenue for the business.
The Sales Department is responsible for driving the revenue of a company. It focuses on
promoting products or services to customers, understanding market needs, negotiating deals, and
closing sales. This department serves as the frontline of the business, directly interacting with
clients to convert potential interest into business transactions.

LEARNINGS: I learned that Amma’n gold and diamonds blends traditional and
modern gold jewellery designs, offering personalized pieces through casting

LEARNINGS: After speaking with the supervisor & staff AMMA'N' GOLD &

LEARNINGS: On day of 7th March, internship at Amma’n Gold and Diamonds, I began
by familiarizing myself with the company’s background, product offerings, and
organizational structure. I learned that the brand masterfully blends traditional and
contemporary jewellery designs, offering personalized pieces through casting services and
innovative techniques like light stamping. Their commitment to customer satisfaction and

cultural craftsmanship has built a loyal clientele since their inception in 1997 in
Kayamkulam, Kerala, later expanding internationally to Manama, Bahrain.
As I assisted the staff with billing and system recording, I gained hands-on experience in
writing detailed invoices, ensuring accurate entries of product descriptions, weight, purity
(such as 22KT or 18KT), HUID (Hallmark Unique ID), and applicable taxes like GST. I
observed that while handwritten bills were still used for customer interaction, all transactions
were systematically recorded in Excel for inventory management and sales tracking. I learned
essential Excel functions, such as SUMIF and VLOOKUP, to automate calculations for totals,
discounts, and taxes, reducing manual errors. Additionally, I helped maintain daily sales
reports and customer purchase histories, recognizing the importance of precision in data entry
to avoid discrepancies between physical stock and digital records.
One key takeaway was the significance of compliance in jewellery billing—ensuring HUID
and GST details were correctly documented to meet legal standards. I also noticed
challenges, such as occasional manual entry errors and delays in updating digital records,
which led me to suggest a dual-verification system where one staff member prepares the
bill while another cross-checks the Excel entry. To further streamline the process, I
recommended using standardized drop-down menus in Excel for product names and
exploring billing software like Tally for automated tax calculations, while retaining Excel
for backup and analysis.
OBSERVATIONS: Recording Bills & Handling customer , store keeping. All the bills are
hand written and are later recorded in system, I engaged with certain customers on my day of
internship and explained product features, pricing and discounts. Store keeping is important
for a outlet which consists mostly of jewellry items. This helps in maintain proper decorum
around the shop.

crucial aspects of jewellery retail operations. In billing and Excel management, I learned that
absolute accuracy is non-negotiable - even minor errors in entering details like HUID could
lead to legal complications and erode customer trust. I mastered practical Excel skills, using
formulas like SUMIF and VLOOKUP to automate calculations and streamline sales tracking,
while recognizing that implementing barcoding or QR systems could further enhance
efficiency and reduce manual errors.
When it came to customer service, I discovered the power of active listening and clear
communication, particularly when explaining complex concepts like making charges. I
observed fascinating generational differences in customer preferences - while traditional
clients appreciated detailed explanations about craftsmanship, younger buyers valued quick
digital transactions. Most importantly, I learned that handling complaints with patience and
offering fair solutions was key to maintaining long-term customer relationships.
For inventory and store maintenance, I saw how daily Excel updates were essential for
preventing audit discrepancies. The importance of proper tagging and organized storage
became evident as it significantly reduced retrieval time. Based on my observations, I
proposed implementing a checklist system for vault operations to prevent item misplacement,
demonstrating how simple procedural improvements could enhance security and efficiency in
store management.

LEARNINGS: Through helping create Instagram content, I learned that great jewelry posts
need both beautiful pictures and interesting stories. High-quality close-ups of pieces worked
best, especially when paired with captions about how they're made. I discovered that posting
in the evenings and using a mix of popular and specific hashtags helped more people see our
content. Videos and carousel posts showing jewelry from different angles got more likes and
shares than single images. For ads, clear calls-to-action like "Shop Now" performed better
than vague promotions. Checking Instagram's analytics regularly taught me what content our
audience liked most, so we could create more of it. Simple interactive features like polls made
followers more engaged. Most importantly, keeping a consistent style in all posts made our
brand look more professional and trustworthy.
