ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM
any negative impact humans have on
the natural world, harming the
environment and potentially impacting
human health and well-being. This
includes pollution, resource depletion,
habitat destruction, and climate
change.
CAUSES OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM
Pollution
Deforestation
climate change
Overpopulation
waste management
POLLUTION
Pollution, whether its in the form of air, water, land
is harmful to the ecosystem in any form.
[Link] Pollution
The contamination of the atmosphere with harmful substances, primarily from human activities.
[Link] Pollution
The contamination of water bodies (rivers, lakes, oceans) with harmful substances, rendering it unsafe F
human use or harming aquatic life.
[Link] Pollution
The contamination of land surfaces with harmful substances, impacting soil quality and potentially
affecting groundwater and ecosystems.
DEFORESTATION
Deforestation - The clearing of forests for other land uses, leading to habitat loss,
biodiversity reduction, and soil erosion.
CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate Change - Long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns, mainly caused
by human activities emitting greenhouse gases.
OVERPOPULATION
Overpopulation - A situation where the number of people exceeds the
carrying capacity of the environment, leading to resource scarcity and
environmental degradation.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Waste Management - The collection, transport, processing, recycling, or disposal of waste
materials, aiming to minimize their environmental impact.

Ecological Impacts
Social Impacts
HUMAN HEALTH
IMPACTS
These refer to the negative effects on human physical and
mental well-being caused by environmental degradation.
ECONOMIC IMPACTS
These are the financial consequences of environmental
damage. They include the costs of repairing infrastructure
damaged by extreme weather events, reduced agricultural
productivity leading to higher food prices, and decreased
tourism revenue from environmental degradation.
ECOLOGICAL IMPACTS
These are the effects on the natural environment, including biodiversity
loss from habitat destruction and pollution, ecosystem disruption from
climate change, ocean acidification harming marine life, and sea-level rise
threatening coastal areas.
SOCIAL IMPACTS
These are the consequences for human societies, including displacement
and migration due to environmental disasters, increased social inequality
as vulnerable populations are disproportionately affected, and conflicts
over scarce resources.
