Time: 3 HOURS

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATE:
1. You are required to perform the following tasks
i. Task 1: Develop Pharmacy Information System using VB.NET

2. You have been provided with the following resources for the practical tasks:

 Computer with Microsoft visual studio, Database management system software


(Microsoft SQL server) installed.

TASK: Develop Pharmacy Information System (50 marks)

Destro Pharmacy sells medicines to individual patients.


The pharmacy consists of a store and dispensing area. When drugs are received, they are
recorded and kept in the store.
The store issues certain quantities of each drug to the dispensing area before being dispensed to
individual patients.

You are required to develop a pharmacy information system that:

i. Can allow a user to enter the drugs received by the store. The drug details should include
– drug code, batch no, date of expiry, and quantity.
ii. Can allow user to receive drugs to the dispensing area (from the store) such that when a
given drug quantity is received in the dispensing area, the drug quantity in the store is
reduced by the same amount.

iii. Can allow user to issue drug to patients from the dispensing area. Details of drugs issued
to a patient should include patient Id, Drug code, Batch No, Quantity, and Price.
iv. Can enable one to Add, Edit, or Delete record.
v. Generate Inventory Report that lists drugs and their current quantities in store
vi. Generate Daily, Weekly, or Monthly sales reports
