Instructions
• Time allowed: 30 minutes.
• Written sources are allowed.
• Discussions are allowed.
Question One (15 Marks)
You are a software analyst assigned to design an algorithm than assures smooth operation of an
application. The main modules of an application involve an open forum from diverse users, that
accommodates several input types, including texts, images and documents. At this stage your client
is not aware of post sizes, the number of users, input types and many other things. Fortunately, we
know that forum posts will be dynamically added. The application also has to support message
chats between users in private.
(i) With reason explain data structures and/or algorithms that you will propose for use in
an application. (8 Marks)
(ii) Present an asymptotic analysis of any chosen portion (function) in an application’s
algorithm (s) you have chosen to solve a problem. (7 Marks)
