Automatically Post Consignment Stock to Own Stock
Indicates that you want the system to automatically post consignment stock to own stock when
confirming a warehouse task.
Use
If you select this checkbox, the system changes the stock usage and owner from consignment
stock to own stock. That is, the stock usage is set to blank automatically when the warehouse
task moving the consignment stock to this storage type is confirmed.
Note that with this checkbox selected, you can manually reverse the posting back to the
original owner by keeping the stock in the same storage bin. If you want to prevent this, you can
use Business Add-In Stock Checks for Goods Movements to implement an additional check
that prevents posting from own stock back to consignment stock. Alternatively, you can select
the No Mixed Owners checkbox to prevent the combination of own stock and consignment
stock in one storage bin. However, selecting this checkbox prevents only partial amount
postings, it doesn't stop you from posting the entire stock in the storage bin back to
consignment stock.
Example
You have storage bins that you use in a production supply area and you're not allowed to use
consignment stock in these storage bins. For the storage type of these bins, you indicate that
you want the system to automatically post consignment stock to own stock. This setting
ensures that all stock that is moved to these bins is automatically posted to own stock.
Dependencies
If you select this checkbox, you can't create or confirm warehouse tasks that move
quality inspection stock or blocked stock to this storage type.
If the location-independent stock type for this storage type is quality inspection stock
or blocked stock, you can't automatically post consignment stock to own stock. The
movement types for quality inspection stock or blocked stock prevent multiple
simultaneous changes to the stock usage.
Posting consignment stock to own stock automatically results in a liability towards
the vendor.
