1.1 INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION TO THE REPORT:

Organization study encompasses the systematic study and careful application of

knowledge about how people act within an organization. It is sometimes considered as a sister field
of the following discipline like: industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behaviour,
human resources, and management.

Whenever people interact in organizations, many factors come into play. Modem organizational
studies attempt to understand and model those factors. Like all modemist social science. In
additional, organizational studies seek to control, predict and explain them. There is some
controversy over the ethics of controlling worker behaviour, as well as the manner in which workers
are treated.

As such organizational behaviour has at times been accused of being the scientific tool of the
powerful organization. OB plays a vital role in organizational development, enhancing the
organizational performance,as well as the individual and group performance, satisfaction and
commitment.

The organizational study is systematic learning process about an organization to understand

the different role of each individual namely, interpersonal roles, decision role and informational
role of various member are evaluated and it's also analyzes in which, this role affect the
organization.

10
1.4 INDUSTRY PROFILE

Establishments in the Manufacturing sector are often described as plants, factories, or mills
and characteristically use power-driven machines and materials-handling equipment. However,
establishments that transform materials or substances into new products by hand or in the worker's
home and those engaged in selling to the general public products made on the same premises from
which they are sold, such as bakeries, candy stores, and custom tailors, may also be included in
this sector. Manufacturing establishments may process materials or may contract with other
establishments to process their materials for them. Both types of establishments are included in
manufacturing.

Companies in this industry manufacture a wide variety of goods; major product groups include food
and beverages, chemicals, machinery, transportation equipment, and computers and electronics.
Major companies include Boeing, Caterpillar, DuPont, Ford, GE, GM, HP, IBM, Pfizer, P&G,
and Tyson Foods (all based in the US); Nestlé (Switzerland), Sanofi (France), Siemens
(Germany), and Toyota (Japan).

The top manufacturing countries include China with $4 trillion, accounting for about 30% of the
world total, followed by the US at $2.3 trillion (about 17%), Japan at $1 trillion (about 7%),
Germany at $800 billion (about 6%), and South Korea at $460 billion (3%). The US manufacturing
sector consists of about 290,000 establishments with combined annual sales of about $6 trillion.

COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

Globalization has opened new markets and opportunities for manufacturers but has also
created new challenges, including how to manage far-flung supply chains and distribution channels.
Manufacturers have turned to digitalization to improve efficiency across every area of operations,
including product development, design, production, distribution, and marketing. However,
implementing a successful digital transformation strategy -- including the leveraging of
internet of things (IoT) technology and big data -- requires careful planning and significant
investment.
Demand ultimately depends on consumer spending. The profitability of individual companies
depends on efficient production and distribution. Large companies often have large economies of
scale in purchasing, production, and marketing. Small companies can compete effectively by
producing specialized products

11
1.5 LIMITATION OF TH E STUDY

 As a student, in the research field, I have no past practical experience of an banking

industry. So, it is a limiting factor for obtaining an accurate information.

 For the time limitation I could not gather more information to justify exact condition. The
time constraints are limiting factors

12
CHAPTER 2

FUNCTION

2.1 HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT:

 Collecting, distributing and dispatching the mail Storing and retrieving paper and
electronic records Organizing meetings and preparing meetings documents Responding
promptly to inquiries
 Preparing documents using word processing, spreadsheet and presentation packages, such
as PowerPoint
 Researching information
 Sending and receiving messages by telephone, fax, and email
 Making arrangements for visitors.
 Making travel arrangements
 Purchasing supplies for office stationery and equipment
 Making arrangements for events, such as interviews or sales conferences
 The administration is a support function required by all businesses, and this does not
mean just doing keyboarding or filing
 Senior administrators carry out a wide range of tasks, from monitoring budgets to
interviewing new staff for their departments.
 Routine administrative tasks include opening the mail, preparing and filing documents,
sending emails and faxes.
 Others require more creativity and flexibility, such as arranging travel or important events,
from staff meetings to visits by foreign customers.
 Most administrators also deal with external customers who judge the business on the way
their inquiry is handled. Poor or sloppy administration can be disastrous for a company’s
image and reputation.
 A lost order, badly typed letter, important message that is not passed on, or wrong date
scheduled for a meeting can cause problems and may lose customers
 Sales department
 The main objective of businesses is to generate profit. This profit is generated from the sale
of goods and services. As such, the goal of the sales functional area is to help the business
achieve its sales and revenue targets. The sales department exploits market leads created
by the marketing department to target potential customers and drive sales.
13
 This functional area works closely with the marketing department to leverage market
opportunities, stimulate sales, and increase revenue. Employees in the sales department work
directly with prospective clients to help them determine the best product for their needs and
place orders.
 A minimum of two HRS per cluster is required to establish demand from light fleet
applications; this provides redundancy (allowing HRS maintenance to take place) as well
as additional geographic coverage. Some high-mileage light duty fleets need more
operational flexibility; to support a higher replacement rate in these fleets, more local HRS
are required to provide a greater degree of city-wide coverage.
 Many business customers (as well as private customers, and some fleets) rely on the ability
to make long journeys. In addition, some fleets frequently operate in suburban or rural areas
which are not covered by current HRS locations, which tend to be closerto urban centres. In
practice, in the initial stages of HRS deployment, this trend is likely to restrict the accessible
market for cars and vans to those that are “captive” operating within a region well served by
HRS

 Some HRS deployed several years ago are not designed to meet the level of demand from
recently deployed local fleets, and need to be replaced or upgraded; in addition some
relatively recent HRS can only refuel at 350 bar. This means that for some vehicles,
the available public infrastructure does not enable the full capabilities of the technology to
be realized (either due to refuelling demand exceeding HRS capacity, or due to vehicles that
can refuel up to 700 bar only obtaining a partial refuel, or in some cases being unable to
use 350 bar HRS). This further restricts the locations where FCEVs can be deployed
with an optimal user experience, and risks lowering user confidence in hydrogen as a
fuel.

14
2.2 MARK ETING DEPARTMENT:

The marketing functional area works closely with the sales department to create
demand for the company's products and services. Employees within this organizational unit are
responsible for identifying and addressing customer needs. In other words, the marketing
department conducts research to determine what consumers want and design products that meet these
needs. Marketing functions also include:
