Corrosive Ooze Giants
Corrosive ooze giants are a hulking variant of sentient ooze
that stands about 15ft. tall. Unlike the ooze giant progenitor,
these ooze giants known to develop naturally when certain
species of ooze that evolved a primitive level of sapience.
Although common depictions of corrosive ooze giants
resemble that of a large bipedal slime monster, corrosive
giants have been known to take a variety of different forms.
Some assume their classic amoeboid shape, but many
replicate the appearance of creatures in its environment
resembling a slimy copy of a dragon, a worm, or other
creature suitable to its biome.
Ravenous Hunger
Despite their heightened intelligence, ooze giants are still
subject to their massive appetite and will patrol wide berths
to find enough food. Thanks to the extremely acidic nature of
its slime, the ooze giant is able to eat through nearly any form
of organic matter. Because of their strength, limited
intelligence, and versatility, it is not uncommon for ooze
giants to find themselves in the services of those who are
willing to trade food for their aid.
Corrosive Nature
As their name suggests, corrosive ooze giants have the ability
to dissolve any nonmagical substance. As a result,
adventurers must be extremely cautious when fighting these
entities as they are able to fully dissolve any form of
nonmagical weapon or gear that they may possess. A single
touch from this hulking ooze is enough to drench their
opponent in burning acid that not only continually eats away
at one's skin but will melt any non-magical possessions in
their grasp. Not only must one evade the ooze giant’s flailing
pseudopods, but they also must also watch their footing lest
they step into a trail a bubbling acid left in the ooze's wake.
Dissolving Bile
However, their deadliest attack is their ability to eject a spray
of vitriolic acid onto creatures within range. The slime stored
within its body, is much more potent than the ooze found in
its ectoplasm. If one is not careful, this corrosive acid will
completely dissolve every aspect of the victim leaving nothing
but a bubbling pile of ooze.
