Second Semester
2024-2025
Student’s Name:
Material included Science and Math Department Work sheet
Earth systems and Grade: Four
materials Subject: Science
Date: Teacher’s Name: Malak Tawalbeh
Earth is made up of four main systems, called spheres, that work together to support life:
1. Geosphere (Land & Rocks)
o Includes mountains, soil, and Earth’s core.
o Erosion (like rivers carving canyons) changes the geosphere.
2. Hydrosphere (Water)
o Oceans, rivers, ice, and clouds.
o Ocean currents move warm/cold water, affecting weather.
3. Atmosphere (Air)
o Made of gases like oxygen.
o Protects Earth from the Sun’s heat and harmful rays.
4. Biosphere (Living Things)
o All plants, animals, and humans.
o Depends on the other spheres (e.g., trees need air, water, and soil).
Human Impact:
 Harmful: Pollution, deforestation, overfishing.
 Helpful: Planting trees (reforestation), protecting animals.
 Deforestation: Cutting down large areas of forests and not replanting them.
Effect: Animals lose homes (habitats), and the air gets dirtier because trees clean it.
 Overfishing: Catching too many fish from oceans or rivers faster than they give a birth .
Effect: Fish populations shrink, and some species disappear forever (extinct).
 Reforestation: Planting new trees to replace ones that were cut down.
Effect: Helps animals, cleans the air, and protects soil from erosion.

Endangered animals: ( Sumatran Orangutan ,Mountain Gorilla, Hawksbill Turtle, Javan

Rhinoceros, African Elephant, Amur Leopard )

b) It protects us from the Sun’s harmful rays
c) It makes all the water on Earth
d) It grows plants faster
4. What happens when overfishing occurs?
a) Fish populations grow quickly
b) Fish disappear because they can’t reproduce fast enough
c) The air becomes cleaner
